"McCarthy Hill Court was a gem of a find. Clean well appointed rooms. Very welcoming staff - I appreciate to the max all they did to help me settle in for my stay. From organising taxis to food delivery, finding nail technicians.:..to name a few. I’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnb and short stays around Accra and central area…this is a first class place. Well stocked kitchen, good size balconies and excellent views of the city. It’s a bit of a hidden gem….x"

"The owner is extremely friendly, always smiling. The location is like a hide out and very quiet. Stayed at the ground floor 2 bed.... the bathroom had lots of mosquitoes and ants especially in the mornings. The tap goes off around 8am and the 1st morning we were told it'll come but it was still off around 1pm, so my bf had to go out without showering. The second morning same thing but this time, the lady told us there's a tap at the back of the house we could use to shower. There was a little...

Gye Nyame Grand Beach Resort

4/10 Poor

"Apparently, every night house music is played.... It was so loud that I wore ear plugs in my room. It says that there is a pool, but the pool was unswimmable.... they were slick with green algae. The beach is strewn with garbage (which I understand is something they cannot help).... I don't mean to be a bummer here, but buyer beware. The price point is great.... I came to Winneba to visit friends.... And the free breakfast is nice.... And the staff are very, very friendly. But, it is not the kind of resort where you will leisurely hang out by the pool. If you like loud house music, then this is the place. "

Serenity Terraces Beach Hotel-Kokrobite

10/10 Excellent

"Just spent a week with my family and loved it. The good points: the staff are fantastic, so helpful and friendly even when we turned up at 2am after our flight was delayed. The rooms are big and clean (and didn't see a single mosquito). Air con worked well. Netflix on the tv. Pool was clean. The best bit was being right on the beach. The boys loved playing football and splashing around. It's out of the city centre so very quiet and peaceful and it was great to get away from the insane traffic. It's about 8 miles/30min drive from West Hills Mall which has a big supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants which was good when travelling with children. Be aware: although it isn't far out of the city distance wise, because the traffic/roads are so bad it does take a long time to get to. If you were only in accra for a couple of days you might want somewhere a bit more central. Needs improvement: their back up generator wasn't working when we were there so every time there was a power cut (almost daily) there was no A/C. It wasn't a deal breaker but I've never stayed in a hotel in accra that didn't have a working back up generator. Would we stay there again: yes "
