"Everything was excellent. Only a couple of small things. The shower head could be better. No maid service when we stayed two nights and when leaving the property, you have to turn right away from the freeway. A little inconvenient."

Rooms are reasonably priced.Silver Surf is conveniently located with a restaurant,The Big Sur cafe next door and there’s a liquor store/grocery store a short walk from the hotel. Go a bit south,you have Cambria and you can get gas and shop, Go north and you have that beautiful coastline leading into Big Sur. I will stay here again."

"We booked our first stay at Castle Inn for the summer for one night with our family & simply loved it, so we recently booked a 2 night stay for my husband and I for our 12 year Anniversary. We especially loved having a beach front view and access to walk across the street for an even better view of the beach. The surrounding area is very peaceful and safe. The staff was very attentive. Especially Jeff. We hope to continue making memories here with our family."

"A charming little hotel nestled right on the beach. I especially loved the nightly campfires, which created a cozy atmosphere where guests could sit by the fire and enjoy the beach in the evenings. Unfortunately, the hotel is quite dated and could benefit from better maintenance and some upgrades, especially considering the price. Service was inconsistent, with some staff being friendly and professional while others seemed inexperienced or unhelpful. Room service was technically available but practically nonexistent, as calls often went unanswered or requests were met with confusion. The hotel feels more like a family-run business than a professionally managed resort. While this gives it a certain charm, there is room for improvement in staff training, professionalism, and overall service. Although the hotel is dog-friendly, the restaurant is not, and there is only one outdoor table available beside it, making dining with a dog somewhat inconvenient. Overall, I enjoyed the location and unique atmosphere, particularly the nightly beach campfires. However, with better maintenance, upgraded facilities, and more consistent service, the hotel could offer a much better experience for the price."
