Located within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Burrow is a unique property nestling into the side of the hill above Gillbeck Farm Woods, offering high quality one bedroom accommodation with stunning views overlooking the canopy of mature woodland, surrounding moorland, and beyond across the Nidd valley towards the famous Brimham Rocks. Here you’ll experience a sense of peace and tranquillity being deep in the countryside and yet under two miles from the picturesque town of Pateley Bridge having a variety of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways, and other amenities. Centred on a network of local footpaths and close to sections of the Nidderdale way and Pennine way the location is ideal for those who love walking. Whether you’re looking for gentle walks or more of a challenge you’ll find trails along rivers Nidd and Wharfe, around the many nearby reservoirs, or high on the hills and moors above Nidderdale and Wharfedale. For cyclists many great routes are on the doorstep including the Tour de France and Yorkshire challenges of Greenhow Hill and Blubberhouses Hill. Local attractions include Stump Cross Caverns, The Coldstones Cut – a walkthrough sculpture leading to a spectacular far-reaching view, and Toft Gate Lime Kiln.

The town of Grassington where the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ is filmed is just ‘up the road’, and within 30 minutes’ drive you’ll find the historic sites of Fountains Abbey, Bolton Abbey and Skipton Castle, the physically imposing How Stean Gorge, not to forget the fashionable spa town of Harrogate with its stunning RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and the world-famous Betty’s Tea rooms where afternoon tea is a must!

Then after your day exploring, you return through the woods (look out for the deer), to enjoy a relaxing evening with your favourite holiday tipple where watching the antics of the birds, hares, rabbits, sheep and cattle can be as entertaining as any television! We had a perfect stay in The Burrow. Gorgeous cottage with everything we needed and dog friendly. We were given some lovely treats for the humans and dog. The surrounding area is beautiful. Hope to be back soon. Would 100% recommend.
