Great location, house needs major work
Walking into the house there is an overwhelming odour of dust and damp. Upstairs is not bad, with a nice terrace (morning sun) and sea view. The kitchen is well equipped, but there is an ant problem. The wall lights have no shades so the glare makes it impossible to have them on and sit at the dining table. The terrace has a good BBQ. When you go downstairs to the bedrooms you are in a one star motel accommodation, requiring serious updating. The ceilings are polystyrene and stained/bashed about, the windows look onto undergrowth and most cannot be opened - including the patio door in master bedroom and the bathroom. Downstairs feels cold and damp, towels don’t dry, clothes in wardrobes feel damp, the rooms smell polyester induced sweat and airlessness, the lighting is bleak. All over the house are ugly window air con units - open the doors and you don’t need air con as it’s in a very shaded forested cove. On the plus side the house is in a good location with water access, it’s spacious and well equipped, good washing machine/dryer, dishwasher etc. It just needs a massive refurb and re-wiring, as unfortunately it’s not worth the price paid. We made sure we were out and about with minimum time spent in the depressing bedroom area downstairs which really is the pits. At night you can hear the chipmunks or similar digging and scuttling around above the bedroom ceilings. From UK we are used to old properties and happily live in rustic accommodation but this is below par.
