Loved it! Great location and was very clean and well stocked. Owner was friendly and had good communication. Loved to put kayaks in right off the back dock. Definitely recommend.

Perfect Place to Stay

Great stay!

A wonderful little spot for our family to spend a long weekend. Location right on the sound is beautiful. We had one really great sunset. The decks appear to be brand new and were great for hanging out in the evenings. The whole place was in great shape. We're itching to book it again!

Perfect getaway

The house was absolutely perfect. It had everything that you need. The house is in a residential part of Hatteras island that’s not too built up, away from the main drag. The peace and quiet was wonderful – with stunning starry night skies to boot. We used the kayak for outings around the salt marshes. There is a tug boat moored right outside of the house, which leaves very early in the morning, and that can be noisy. But it all adds to the charm. We’d come again in a heartbeat.

A Little bit of heaven

Beautiful views, sunny skies, wonderful sunsets and a clean beautiful home. Just wished I hadn't gotten rudely awakened on Sunday morning at 4:45 am with a garage door opening and closing from under the house and then a troller boat starting their boat right under my bedroom window. That was not what I expected on my vacation.

Wonderful View

We keep coming back for many reasons! Love the location, its quiet and peaceful , the huge deck overlooking the canal and sound, being able to fish in the canal, fish cleaning area, watching the pelicans fly by, watching the sun set and the owners are very nice to talk too

Amazing sunsets

Could stay forever!

Our family loved our stay. We had to leave a little early due to car trouble but we plan on making another visit as soon as possible. Owners were great, even helped get us it touch with a mechanic. House was beautiful, sunrises and sunsets on the deck were amazing. Had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing home with us!

Hatteras Village

Over the years we've come to the conclusion that with the increasing occurrence of hurricanes, we chose well when we decided to rent instead of build at the coast. That said, we've rented dozens of places at the beach from Virginia to Florida. The Landing checked all of our boxes — tastefully and honestly decorated, a view that is absolutely numbing, comfy beds and furniture, a well appointed kitchen, a dock for recreation and watching the coming and going of a commercial fishing vessel with an entertaining captain, an interior clean and neat as a pin, plus the friendly hosts and the ambiance of an authentic village where local wave at you. We'll be back.

An Outer Banks Haven

Our family has enjoyed staying at the Landing for our last two trips to the Outer Banks. The home is located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood that is very convenient to a well-stocked neighborhood market and the Ocracoke Ferry. We enjoyed having the ability to cook and launder at the home, and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets overlooking the sound. Coffee on the covered deck was so relaxing while enjoying the sounds of the water and birds. Ocracoke is a 60 minute ferry ride away, and Nags Head was about an 80 min. drive. There are quite a few local restaurants just a short drive away. The Landing provides a true home away from home, and you won’t regret your stay.

Great end of summer stay!

We enjoyed our stay at The Landing. Our family enjoyed how comfortable the cottage was, the beautiful sunsets and getting to take our little ones kayaking. We hope to be back soon!

Perfect Hatteras Getaway

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location close to Hatteras ferry. The cottage was very clean and Katie was extremely communicative. Evening sunsets were absolutely amazing. Kitchen was well equipped for simple meals. We had the most relaxing time and this place was perfect.

Fantastic deck views

We were lucky enough to book a week stay at this great home. Our favorite thing to do (when it wasn't too hot) was to sit on the deck which backs right up to the sound and watch all the exotic birds and water creatures. We actually saw a river otter! We also saw different species of birds and a weird creater called a sea hares and if you don't know what that is, look it up! Anyway, all in all, it was a great visit.

Hatteras Cottage

The cottage was cute and in a nice neighborhood on the sound side. It was mostly clean other than the bathroom smelled strongly of urine. I mopped it with a mop that was in the storage by the washer, and it seemed to take care of the problem. I also wish there would've been a vacuum left to be used because we have a toddler that makes messes and there really wasn't any way to clean up after him. Other than those two small issues the cottage as cozy and in a great location.

Beautiful views,great location.

We had a great stay -- wish it could have been longer. The location was great, right on the sound and walking distance to local grocery store. The only thing I would recommend to the owner is to sharpen the kitchen knives. :)
