The property lived up to our memories of our first stay there in 1981. However there was no provision or information about parking, the restaurant was closed and the morning we left they didn't provide breakfast.

Het is een uniek hotel met veel geschiedenis. Midden in het centrum van de Altstadt. Parkeren is op 2 minuten loopafstand. Kamer is prima wat grote betreft. Tegenvallend: Geen airco of propellers, oude vloerbedekking met veel vlekken. Personeel wat uit verschillende landen komt en elkaar moeten vertellen hoe alles werkt. Ontbijt was matig van kwaliteit maar ook wat presenteren betreft. Schoonmaak kamer ook niet dagelijks en moest zelf vragen om nieuwe handdoeken. Kortom nog het een en ander te verbeteren.

The beds are extremely comfortable. The Wi-Fi and tv are sub-par, but we didn't stay at the beautiful and historical Ritter for the tv. The location, views, staff, breakfast, and surrounding dinner options are outstanding.

475-year-old building, beautifully renovated and kept up. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous location, smack in the middle of old Heidelberg, right next to the Holy Ghost Church. On Sunday at 9:00, as it is summer and we had kept the windows open, we woke up to the sound of the church organ starting mass service. It was a first for both of us.

This hotel is old but well kept . It’s clean and staff is very friendly. It’s a historic building. Only thing I didn’t like was that you get one key for your room and the only way to lock the room from outside and inside is with the key .

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The rooms may not have the most modern amenities but they are comfortable and the view from my window was unbeatable. The service at the front desk was attentive and informative. Note that the hotel faces a very popular street and it can be loud with people until very late at night and again in the morning during trash pick up. The windows block most of the sound, but I prefer to have the fresh air with windows open. The one downside was the breakfast. Expedia said it would be free, but I was charged for it. Breakfast began at 8:00am, but when I went down at 8:30am the eggs were cold. The egs were also flavored like the bacon which is troubling when you are someone who does not eat pork. Go for the fantastic location and service. Don't go for the food. Americans should note that the hotel is not air conditioned.

Zuerst das Beste. Die Lage ist perfekt! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Bei erwünschtem Zimmerwechsel wird jedoch sofort ein Aufpreis erwähnt. Das Frühstück ist gut, leider sind Rühreier und Speck aber um 8:00 Uhr bereits kalt. Tipp: Warmhaltegefäss würde hier Abhilfe schaffen. Das erwähnte WLAN funktioniert leider nicht auf den Zimmern, die versprochene Abhilfe ist nicht erfolgt. Zu meinem Zimmer: Zimmer zur Strasse extrem laut. Extremer Lärm bis ca. 1:00 Uhr und Morgens um 6:00 Uhr teils wieder Müllabfuhr und Verkehr. Bei Bitte um Zimmertausch wurde Aufpreis erwähnt und Rückruf versprochen der nicht erfolgt ist. Der versprochene Tresor war zumindest in Zimmer 302 nicht vorhanden. Das Rohr unter dem Waschbecken leckt, sodass dort Wasser stand und der Fenstergriff konnte herausgezogen werden. Hier sollte Abhilfe geschaffen werden. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, andere Einzelzimmer waren laut Aussage grösser, zum Schlafen für mich aber ausreichend und es war sauber. Das grösste Handicap war die Lautstärke. Fenster auf zu laut, Fenster zu zu warm. Tipp: Hier könnte vielleicht zumindest bei den Zimmern zur Strasse Verbesserung durch einen kleinen Ventilator geschaffen werden. Die kleineren und lauten Zimmer sollten ggf. eher an Gäste vergeben werden die nur eine oder maximal zwei Nächte im Hotel übernachten. Eine Überprüfung aller Zimmer auf Zustand wäre ggf. empfehlenswert. Bei absoluter Lärmunempfindlichkeit oder Zimmer nach hinten aufgrund der Lage trotzdem für Buchung zu empfe

Front desk staff very friendly. It’s an old hotel but that’s part of the charm. Like most places in Germany there is no air conditioning in the individual rooms (so don’t complain - this is common here) but the man at the front desk offered me a fan as I was staying on the top floor room. It was 33 degrees last weekend so it was very hot but the view from my window was amazing and it was conveniently close to the hiking path I travelled there for. Comfortable bed. Will definitely stay again :)

Very nice hotel in the best location of the city. You are at the doorstep of the old town you really can’t get a better location. Even though it’s in the heart of the old town, it’s very quiet in the rooms, which were also nice. Bed was comfortable and the accommodation were great. Sam, who checked me in was so friendly and inviting, he made our stay very pleasant
