The Retreat at Hempstead is nestled on five acres in quiet Hempstead, Texas. The property includes a beautiful newly renovated 4900 sq. ft. country home - THE RETREAT HOUSE and a 2160 sq. ft. event venue - THE BARN @ THE RETREAT (requires separate event fees). Whether you are looking for a girl's weekend getaway, family vacation or reunion, birthday or graduation celebration, weddings and anniversaries, scouting weekend or small group/corporate day or night retreat, we have the location just for you!

The Retreat House has 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, and kids/teen sleeping and lounge room. Accommodates 24 people (up to 28 with sofa beds and futons). Large game room includes bar with seating for 4, living room area, dining table seats 14, breakfast room seats 6, and kitchen bar seating. The multi-purpose room with mounted flat screen television is ideal for meetings and presentations, wellness and yoga, arts and crafts.
Enjoy the outdoors bug free on the 2000 sq. ft. screened in patio. Sip and Soak in the Hot Tub and Bar area. Lounge by the fireplace, cook on the grill, dine al fresco or just relax with a good book or take in a sunrise/sunset.

Take a walk on the nature trail, cast your luck in the stocked catch and release pond, take an afternoon nap in one of the hammocks, and end the night with a campfire under the stars.

Plenty of outdoor games and activities for all ages. Basketball, ping pong, volleyball, badminton, archery, horseshoes, corn-hole and more!

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway with family and friends or planning that special event, come see why moments become memories at The Retreat at Hempstead.

THE BARN EVENT SPACE rental fee includes 60" round tables, chairs, cocktail tables, cake table, gift table, bar, arbor, linens, centerpieces and sound system.

Perfect and Peaceful GetawayWe had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! The house was spacious, immaculate, and beautifully designed — perfect for our group. The outdoor space and barn were incredible for our dinner, and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Even when a storm rolled through, the owner went above and beyond by bringing us lanterns just in case the power went out. Every detail was thought of, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We’re already talking about making this our yearly tradition — truly a perfect and peaceful home!

Great Experience!

We enjoyed this property so much. There were plenty of areas to congregate and if we needed downtime lots of lovely bedrooms. The kids enjoyed fishing and playing air hockey in the game room. We had a really wonderful family reunion at this great location!

Amazing vacation home

We stayed over for George Strait in college station. The commute was easy and the price was unbeatable for all the amenities. We had 10 adults and kids ages 3-18, everyone loved the property, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ever need. The house was enormous and great for our families to be able to spread out. Outside offered all sorts of activities, fishing, basketball, frisbee, hammocks, giant connect 4. The kids spent little to no time in front of screens. Inside they have an air hockey table, poker table, lots of games and toys. Overall a great house for families with kids, the screened in patio was wonderful for keeping the mosquitoes away. It’s a beautiful property that provides you with everything you need to have a staycation. If we ever go to that part of Texas again we would love to revisit!

Family Gathering

This was the perfect place for our large family to get together! This was the first time our family was all together since our mother passed away in October. It was the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying family! The property was so spacious that you never felt like you were sitting on top of each other. The large screened in porch was perfect for hanging out (and keeping the little ones contained). There was equipment available for many activities to enjoy as well. You felt like you were way out in the country somewhere even though there are neighbors. The owners responded quickly to questions we had as well. Our family is already talking about staying here again later in the year.

Wonderful Retreat for the Weekend!

This property was an incredible spot for a ladies retreat weekend, and Jennifer and Tracy were such attentive and helpful hosts! The house was spacious and clean as described, but we especially loved the large screened back porch, hammocks, fire pit, and hot tub areas. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it!

2024 sales Meeting kickoff

We used the property to host a sales meeting. The living room space worked great for our meeting with the big TV and plenty of room to be comfortable. Lots of activities available like ping pong, horse shoes, corn hole, shuffle board and lots more. Setting was quite and peaceful. Fire pit was great! Amazing Vacation

Our stay was amazing! The property was beautiful and comfortably accommodated all our guest. Check in was a breeze. any problems we encountered were addressed promptly and we were given direction on how to resolve the. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The only regret we have is that there had been no rain and the pond was low, but the children and adults still enjoyed the fishing experience. Some of the kids were able to catch their first fish. I will definitely recommend this property to my friends and colleagues as well as my family to theirs.
