## Emplacement
The town of Hérouville-Saint-Clair is located in the suburbs of Caen, in Calvados. A small town in Normandy that was called Hérouville until the 1960s, when it was decided to create a new city that multiplied by 13 the number of inhabitants. It is the birth of Hérouville-Saint-Clair.
The city is located inland, but only about ten kilometres from the sea, the English Channel.

The culinary specialities of Hérouville-Saint-Clair are often based on fish or shellfish.
