Hypnotic Screened Porch

Lovely home on wooded lot in the highly sought after Mirror Lake neighborhood. The screened porch is a true highlight - great for napping, reading and entertaining. You will enjoy the cool temperatures and lovely breezes even in the summer (the elevation at the house is 3832). There is also a pretty field stone porch with adirondack chairs and a swing perfect for relaxing. Off the screened porch is a large, bright great room with a wood burning fireplace. We enjoy cooking so you will find the kitchen to be stocked with all the pots, pans and tools you need to create a great meal. This peaceful home is also conveniently located just 1.7 miles from downtown. You can even walk to downtown via beautiful and safe back roads. If you need to stay in touch with the outside world, there is great wi-fi and TV.

The best place to get away! This house was perfectly clean, kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed, and has the coziest living room and screened porch. Expectations exceeded. Perfect amount of room for one or 2 couples! Host is so helpful and responsive with any needs or questions.

What a perfect stay in this cozy mountain home! We loved every second of our stay. The home is tucked on a quiet road just a few minutes from downtown Highlands. It’s the perfect mix of feeling private and like a mountain escape and being close to everything fun in the area. We especially loved the fully stocked kitchen and working fireplace. We are not used to windy roads, so the short drive on the one-lane road to the home felt like a mountain adventure, but not too treacherous. We look forward to returning.

Very pleasant stay, great host, comfortable beds, everything worked well too! Only negative was the location, being an unwalkable neighborhood with narrow roads (9-10 ft wide with no shoulders) that should be one-way roads as is impossible for 2 cars to pass and has blind curves, but folks go both directions causing 1 to have to stop and pause in a driveway to let the other pass - if one even sees the other coming before an accident occurs.

Perfect mountain getaway

This was the perfect mountain getaway for us. We stayed there last month and it could not have been better. Everything was simple, secluded but very convenient to downtown. The porch was wonderful after a long afternoon of activities. You have complete privacy and can hear water in the distance. Communicate was great. Definitely look forward to staying again sometime.
