Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Can’t say enough positives about this place and the owners. They thought of everything- from beautiful walking paths, outdoor shower (which we loved), massage chair, every cooking accessory that you would want. This home made our vacation have a zen feel to it. There was such peace just sitting outside taking the nature in. I would highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat.a five star in every way.

Amazing!

This property is beyond wonderful. Every convenience imaginable is provided. We loved the feel of being in our own private rain forest. I would highly recommend this property when visiting the island. We hope to return and enjoy it again!

This is your spa house! Second time staying

Absolutely loved this place, this was our second year staying there and it's such a relaxing place to be. Hilo is truly amazing and beautiful and this place lets you soak it all in. Smart home is awesome the hot tub the outdoor showers the backyard the lighting is relaxing. The managers and the owners are great!

Do not let it deter you that there is no air conditioning as it truly is not needed. The way the house is built with the vaulted ceilings iand the full walll sliders, the air moves perfectly throughout the house. I would recommend this resort 100% of the time.

We have rented at least 20 homes in Hawaii on almost all the islands and this house is #1! The quality, attention to detail, everything in working order, detail instructions and information on all appliances and features of the home. The backyard is a botanical garden with beautiful accent lighting and winding pathways - quite the experience. Everything is high quality including the owners who offered us wine and food when the Tsunami warning hit and Hilo was gridlocked. Unforgettable experiance!!!! Don't miss this opportunity!

The property managers were gracious enough to allow my now husband to get ready at their beautiful home with his photographer. The owners on property were so sweet and congratulated us when they found out it was our wedding day. What a gorgeous property with high-quality amenities. I mean an espresso machine, full body massage chair & outdoor showers!? This was such a treat for us & would love to return in the future.

Delightful

Very enjoyable. Backyard jungle walk and hot tub relaxing. Took some time to get used to all the lights, fans,tv, etc. but after a day or two we were at home in paradise. Thank you.

Unique Vacation stay- in a great way!

House was very clean and cool. Super private backyard and loved the outdoor showers. Convenient location for us and everything we wanted to do. If staying here you must have a car to get to and from. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was lovely. It was clean, well-stocked, and thoughtfully laid out with furniture, amenities, and technology. The rental company communicated well, and we loved the hot tub, outdoor shower, and trails in the backyard. There is no air conditioning and we happened to be there during a few very warm days in August. While the evenings cooled down nicely, even with windows open and fans blowing, the temperature inside was warm well into the night, since there is no cross ventilation at the house. It was a small inconvenience among everything else being near perfect at the house.

One of a kind property in a great location.

The property is located in a nice residential neighborhood 10 minutes from downtown Hilo and 45 minutes from Volcanoes National Park. The yard is a botanical garden. This is a “smart house” with a lot of the current technology.

A relaxing get away

This rental was one of the best I stayed at! It was so peaceful and well thought out! The jungle is literally in your back yard. It was the longest I stayed inside my rental on vacation since it was so relaxing! The jacuzzi was the cherry on top!

Relaxing Tranquility

A secluded, relaxing tropical retreat! Built on lava rock and surrounded by lush vegetation made you feel like you were deep in the jungle. The house was amazing with more creatures of comfort than you could use! The hot tub and massage chair were awesome. A favorite time was spent relaxing and enjoying the view through the floor to ceiling windows. The best VRBO we’ve stayed in. Mahala!

The tropical rain forest backyard is so beautiful to look at and the private path through it was a wonderful walk every morning. We had a contact person to go to if we needed anything, otherwise it was total privacy. 45 minute drive to our favorite, Volcano national park. We loved the property so much we are going back to the big island again just to enjoy this little slice of paradise!

Relaxing getaway

We had a fantastic stay at the Lava Rock Retreat. The house was exactly what we expected and was a nice relaxing getaway after the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. The backyard and grounds were peaceful and we loved enjoying our morning coffee on the lanai. Thank you for sharing your amazing home with us.

The jungle noises at night were so loud we had to use subtitles on the TV if we wanted to watch a show, as we didn't want to close the screened glass doors and miss out on the outdoor vibe. It was a great experience, and totally different from a resort (which we did the previous several days). We stay here again.

Best trip ever

The lava retreat was the best place we have ever stayed! The host have thought of absolutely everything one could ever need. Going inside the house you see the back area which is not to disappoint and even better the more you explore! Comfortable beds, rooms, great sitting areas, stocked kitchen! Just 6 minutes to Hilo but feels a world away.. score 20/10 and we will absolutely return

Beautiful house with lush tropical landscaping and top-notch amenities. The decorator and design touches in this house made our stay wonderful. Host responsiveness was quick and efficient. Very nice neighborhood. We would not hesitate to book this house again.
