While I was taking this picture a deer was going through my camera bag and heading off down the beach with one of my filter holders. A fantastic island for photographers and tourists in general and well worth an overnight visit if you're going to Hiroshima, as it's only an hour away, and free to get to if you're on a JR rail pass.

Great budget option in Miyajima

A great budget option in Miyajima, it is a five minutes walk from the JR Miyajima station and within walking distance of the ferry terminal. We were upgraded to a room with two bunk beds and it was a comfortable stay though it did get a bit noisy at times since the sliding door did not block the sound of people moving and talking in the corridor. Facilities are like most hostels and you get what you pay for.

Simple Stay is located approximately 3-5min walk from Miyajimaguchi station. The price is pretty easy on the pocket, so the expectation on living at the location isn’t very high. The hostel provided basic facilities (shower room, toilets, wash basin, washing machine & dryer) and is an unmanned counter that provided a generally smooth check-in/check-out experience. The hostel had a shared kitchen but was not properly taken care of. There was a pot of hot oil with what looked like residue of post deep frying, and the area was generally messy. I guess having some time slots to upkeep the area before any guests’ arrival might create better impression. The room was decent and quite spacious. Most guests were also respectful of each other so the overall living experience was positive.

Terrible place. Very dirty, black mold in bathroom and some sleeping room. Very bad service: i didn't get the code for the door and no reception even though I was there at 7pm (supposed to be open until 8pm). I tried to send messages, call but not much help to get, poor english and they didn't seem to care that I was locked outside. Finally I got help from someone passing by in the street who got the door code for me. I'll rather stay at the hotel from The Shinning than staying in this dump again.

We were there around June 24 2023. Check-in was done via remote. The property manager emailed me the front door code and left the key on the counter. We stayed there for one night and stayed in a room with four bunks. There are shared toilets and showers on each floor and were clean. There are additional sinks and mirrors situated in the hallways as well. Although the hostel was fully booked, we didn't really see any other guests during our stay, so it was extremely quiet. The AC in the room was powerful and despite the small size room, it was overall adequate. There are laundry machines (wash dry) on-site. The hostel is in a fantastic location, less than a 5 minute walk from the JR station, and about 8 minutes walk from the ferry to Miyagima island. I would recommend this hostel if you're looking for basic economy.

値段がとても安いにも関わらず、綺麗なベッドやトイレが用意されていました。立地も厳島神社行フェリー乗り場に近いため良かったです。初めての一人旅で不安でしたが、この宿泊施設を選んで正解でした。

Nunca vi a nadie en recepción, te dejan un papel para que anotes tus datos e instrucciones de como dejar el dinero en un buzon, si no pagaste en linea, la limpieza de los baños podria estar mejor; la habitacion si está limpia y cómoda. Lo que si es excelente es que está muy cerca de la terminal de trenes y ferry.

もう少し清潔にしてほしい

電話した時の対応はよかったので、安心していたのですが、実際行ってみると、建物全体に清潔感がなく、シャワーブースもカビが生えていて、ちょっと使う気になりませんでした。 部屋も汗臭いようなにおいがこもっていて、閉口しました。部屋には、鏡もゴミ箱もありません。 洗面台が各部屋の間に1つずつ設置されていますが、誰かが使うと、水道の音が部屋に響きます。 お値段を考えれば、仕方ないのかもしれませんが、もう少し清潔にしてほしいと思いました。

Pas cher, mais on en a pour son argent

Personne a la réception alors que c’était censé être ouvert, il a fallu appeler une personne qui parlait à peine anglais afin d’avoir le code d’entrée de l’hôtel . Ensuite pas de serviette, et les lits étaient à faire! Matelas inconfortables !!! Aucun service!

Also ich war einen Tag in Hiroshima das was ganz OK aber länger könnte ich in diesem Hostel leider nicht bleiben weil die Dusche sehr alt und war und nicht hygienisch meiner Meinung nach. Disappointed, with already low expectations

No one was at the desk when we first arrived. We waited until 3:30pm but no one showed up so we had to pay to store our luggage while we explored. Otherwise this is very bare-bones, as expected. Would not recommend staying for more than one night. Great cajun restaurant across the street though, and close to ferry and train stations.
