The Claytor Escape Lodge at Claytor Lake is a waterfront lodge that offers plenty of space for your group with gorgeous panoramic views of the lake. It’s perfect for gathering with family, friends, work trip, VT/Radford Univ. events. It’s a very private, peaceful part of the lake with lots of wildlife and few passing boats. The large deck is perfect for gathering, grilling, unwinding or making s’mores at the fire pit. Huge private dock for fishing, swimming, boating & creating memories.
The lodge is very private, quiet, peaceful and full of natures beauty. WiFi with excellent speed for working remotely with a desk overlooking the lake. Linens, towels, toilet paper and hand soap are provided.
The lodge features a huge front porch, partially covered, to enjoy your morning coffee along with a private stone patio to enjoy grilling and dinners outside. Newer furniture, excellent WIFI internet, washer/dryer, private patio and decks, multiple decks on both levels, and all the kitchen essentials. There is a Gas grill for grilling and also a propane gas fire pit to enjoy on the deck for s'mores. There are three separate sitting areas with couches throughout the lodge. The large master bedroom features a luxurious king-size bed with stunning views and a large private master bath with both shower and jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom features a king size bed. The third bedroom has a queen size bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The fourth bedroom has a daybed along with bunkbeds. The fifth bedroom has a double bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The loft has two twin beds and room for air mattresses or sleeping bags. Guests will not have access to the garage.
Pet-Friendly: Up to 1 dog allowed per stay with pet fee. NO cats allowed due to owners allergies. Pets not allowed on furniture. Yard is completely fenced in, but fence is bent down in 2 areas in the back yard where large tree branch fell on the fence. Small crate available for use upon request.
There is great swimming and fishing off the dock. The water at the end of the dock is about 5-7 feet deep and has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water. On the upper deck of the dock there is plenty of space for relaxing and catching a suntan. There is a sand bar about 40-50 ft out from the dock that prevents boats from the main channel from coming near the dock which makes it very private for swimming. If you have a boat there is easy access to the dock and has tie ups available. There is are 2 paddle boards and a 2-seat pedal boat available for guests.
General: Free Wifi, central air conditioning, central heating, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguishers, towels/linens, board games, pack-n-play crib available if notified prior to stay.
Reverse Osmosis water filtration system for great drinking water. There is an abundance of wildlife including deer, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, bear, fox, snakes, herons, etc...
The lane is very private and excellent for morning/evening walks or for young kids to ride bikes or scooters. Do not park in the grass.
