A few hours before check in, I got a text informing that there will be no power at the hotel until 7pm, due to the city working on the power. That means no lights or AC until the power turns back on. I know it is not the hotel's fault so I was okay about it and didn't ask for compensation. I was able to check in and drop my stuff off in my room. Thankfully there was 2 elevators working; thanks to their backup generators. I went exploring and shopping until 7:30pm to make sure the power was working. My room number was 1022. It had a fantastic view. The place was quiet and secure. In fact, it was so quiet that I thought i was the only person on my floor and wing. The room needs some refurbishing, Particularly the bathroom. The shower was not cleaned, there was a shaver and a used wash towel on the shower handle. The vanity inside was dusty..I had to dust it to use it. Caulking on the shower pan was in pieces and water was going in. It will be a matter of time before the water will damage the bathroom floor. In the kitchen, a piece of wood trimming fell by itself. I couldn't figure out where it came from. I left it in the closet for maintenance. Turns out it was the trim for the dishwasher...which we had no dishwasher soap provided. The switch to the garbage disposal was on. I assumed it was left on during the power outage. Upon looking under the sink, there is NO garbage disposal! Overall, I liked the location of this resort. Very walkable.

Beautiful views

The hotel front desk was wonderful. They gave us bottled waters, lei's, juice & ice cream vouchers. Great location walking distance to beach, shops, food. Free Friday night fireworks that we watched from our room. Beautiful calm lagoon behind the hotel. Great for families with small children to swim with no waves. Airport & cruise ports are just a short uber drive away. Rooms are clean but dated they could use a face life. Regardless i would still stay here again.

Friendly service from start to finish. Valet very help with luggage, parking and even made a run to our car for us when we forgot something. Front desk very prompt and informative. Rooms were clean and we had a WONDERFUL view of the marina and up the coast line. We loved having direct Waikiki beach access as well and it's right next to Hilton Hawaiian Village so you get to watch their Friday night fireworks at Ilikai prices :) . My only wish is that you didn't have to go to the front desk for ice or that the refrigerators in the room had actual ice makers. LOVE that the only thing we have to do to get new, clean beach towels is swing by the desk on our way out the door. Very convenient and we don't have to wait for anyone to bring them to us. Also love the "bathers elevator" on the other side by the gift shop so there's not water dripping everywhere on the tile when people come in from the pool or beach. OH and don't skip the ice cream shop... it's FANTASTIC!!!!!

Our first hotel in Hawaii. Amazed by the history of this building that almost started the cache of Waikiki. A favorite hotel of Elvis. The hotel Jack Lord stood on in tye opening credits of the original Hawaii 5-0. Lovely studio room with very workable kitchen.
