The Space:
Avon Cabin by Tiny Away is a charming tiny home near our petting zoo, perfect for animal lovers and families. Just a 52-minute drive from the coastal city of New Plymouth, this retreat in the town of Huiroa offers easy access to iconic local attractions.

Discover the architectural Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, explore the lush greenery of Pukekura Park and Paritutu Rock, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Egmont National Park. For zoo enthusiasts, Brooklands Zoo is also within reach.

A comfortable 139-square-foot tiny home with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we three tiny houses ,"Stour, Henge, and Stone Cabin," available with 24 hours' notice, ensuring you have even more cozy holiday homes to enjoy.

Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and surrounding areas. We are a working farm there will be some restricted areas that change daily. This depends on the season and what animals are being born etc.

We have open water areas and a working farm. The stay is suitable for children and infants fully supervised by their parents.

The Neighborhood:
Avon Cabin by Tiny Away is tucked in the rural town of Huiroa in Taranaki, just 52 minutes from New Plymouth and framed by the mighty Mount Taranaki. It’s a laid-back base for exploring local gems like Egmont National Park, Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, and Pukekura Park. Climb Paritutu Rock for epic views, roam Brooklands Zoo, or just soak in the calm of the countryside. Chasing nature, culture, or a quiet place to unplug? This escape puts it all within easy reach.

Getting Around:
By car:

- From Stratford, it's a 7 kilometers drive, taking around 25 minutes
- From New Plymouth, the distance is 56 kilometers, and the drive takes just under an hour.
- Reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.

By public transport:

- No public transportation options available for this route.

Other Things to Note:
- WiFi is available
- Charcoal BBQ Grill is available
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is allowed in certain areas on the property
- Please note that pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- Mobile reception has weak signals for all telco companies.
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Please be advised that our property has free-roaming farm animals (and potential noise). However, the units are on a quiet section of the property

Important note:

- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
- We enforce strict guidelines regarding dogs due to our location in a sheep farming area. This farm holds incredibly rare genetics, the rarest in New Zealand, which free-roaming dogs could easily threaten. While we would prefer no dogs.
