Owners were awesome. Gave just the leniency we needed with a change. We’re suuuuper communicative and available with our couple of questions. The 7/11 next door made things easy. Door to beach is MAYBE 5 minutes. Door to end of the pier about 20 minute walk. Burger place across the street is great food. We will TOTALLY book again if in town

Wonderful property

Great family vacation!

We were just out for our first vacation to Imperial beach. The house is walking distance to the beach, pier, park and a bunch of shops and restaurants. The porch was our favorite part since you can see the ocean and relax. Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure we were all taken care of. We would definitely recommend this home for a great family vacation.

Family reunion

Because we came to SanDiego for a family reunion we needed aplace that accomodated 9 people. This condo did the job. We had easy acesses to restaurants, beaches and Coronado island. We had adequate space for All. Loved having having coffee on the patio every morning.

Always a fun time

I, my family and our friends have stayed at this wonderful beach house condo for over 3 years. In that time, the kindness and communication with John and Emilia have always been the best. We refer to it as, "our beach house", as it is a great location for us and warm in its feel. Biggest bang for your buck while staying in Imperial Beach.

A mixed experience

Overall our stay was fine. The location is fantastic, if you want to be close to the beach and that's pretty much all you care about then you can't beat this. Communication with the host was hit and miss, there are some inaccuracies in the listing information, but it's all small stuff. I'd probably stay here again.

Great location, nice view

We enjoyed our stay in Imperial Beach. This was our first time to the area and found it to be very inviting and a quieter pace than right in the city. We enjoyed the easy access to Coronado and loved being able to just take a short walk down to the ocean. The view from the deck was lovely and we liked being able to see the sunset each night. Unfortunately the weather was quite cool (but sunny) when we were there but we could still enjoy the view through the window. The issues we had were few & minor .... - parking for one vehicle was very tight so be prepared for that - bunk beds were very squeeky and the top bunk was right under a heating vent - futon in bunk bed room was very hard & uncomfortable so our child chose the living room instead - kitchen was well stocked with the basic needs however it would be nice to see the cutlery updated to a little nicer quality including the other utensils ... definitely well used. Overall we really enjoyed this place and would stay here again if we come back to the area.

Imperial Beach Gem

We just returned home from a wonderful family vacation at John and Emilia's condo in Imperial Beach, and are already looking forward to our next trip there. The location is great, within walking distance of the beach, and several local restaurants and shops. We enjoyed spending evenings on the large patio facing the ocean. The condo came equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of space for our group. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The kitchen came equipped with all the dishes, pots, pans, and utensils needed, and there was also a gas grill on the patio. There are tvs with premium channels in all three bedrooms as well as the livingroom . Communication with the owners was really great. Check in and check out was very easy. They are great hosts, very responsive, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely book another stay at the Imperial Beach condo.

Great location, neglected accommodations

We booked this place based on all the 5-star reviews. However, when we arrived, and throughout our stay, we wondered how anyone could have reviewed it as 5-star. The photos showed that the place had not been updated, so this was as expected, but we did not expect the following: - Dirty, sticky surfaces, especially the table and cupboards. Walls and doors had numerous marks and scrapes. Kitchen sink smelled bad, fruit flies. - General disrepair and broken items. Scaling on bathroom fixtures and tub doors; upholstery was worn away from arms on arm chairs; missing baseboards; missing and dirty blind panels, stained seat cushions, stains on curtains. Broken power button on dryer. Refrigerator ice and water dispenser didn't work. Patio furniture was not as pictured; patio table was rusted; patio had non-operating hot tub that was being used as junk storage; patio grill was rusty, and ran out of gas part way through cooking the one night we used it. - Hot and loud. There was no A/C so all windows had to be open; lots of street noise and people on the street talking/partying kept us awake at night. - Uncomfortable beds and sheets. Sheets were pilled and scratchy. Pillows were lumpy. The location was great, near the beach, shops and restaurants. However, we felt misled by the reviews. We significantly overpaid for the level of accommodations we received. We would not stay here again.

Beware of beach access

The penthouse apartment was fine, but we were unaware that the beaches in the Imperial Beach area were not safe for swimming due to sewage from Mexico. This has apparently been the case for months/years, but that information is not reflected in the listing. If you just want to walk around in the sand and sunbathe/watch the waves it’s fine for that, but if you want to actually swim you have to head further up north. It’s on us for not doing our research prior to the trip, but we’ve never had to do that for any other beach trip so we weren’t thinking about it.

Enough room for 8 people, ocean view was exceptional. Place was a little dirty, had to do some cleaning before settled in. Street noise was high especially at night. Only one parking area for a medium size car or truck. Have to hike 3 levels of stairs to get to unit, ok if you have young legs. Ocean was closed due to contamination. Lots of Restaurants and shops in walking distance. Would not stay in this area again.

Great space!

The condo is spacious and has excellent views and locations. We enjoyed the opportunity to gather our family and enjoy meals and special time together. The beach town was quiet in the middle of winter, but things were open and the opportunities for dining were amenable. We want to go back in the summer and do things it was too cold for in December.

Overall very satisfied

I would generally recommend this location but the cleanliness could use an improvement. The whole place feels like it hasn’t been deep cleaned in a long time. (Ex. Shelves in the closets were covered in dust) On the other side, the kitchen was very well stocked and towels were a plenty. The communication with the host was very good and we felt at home. The neighborhood was generally friendly and the pizza brewery was awesome. The 7/11 attracts some questionable folks but other than that the area is super quiet and nice. Make sure to the check the water conditions before coming cause there were contamination signs up. So other than the cleanliness I have no major complains about this place.

Not as described

I booked this property for a family event based on the listing photos and reviews. The day of check-in I was pleasantly surprised by receiving lengthly instructions for the process, along with details about the use of the property, plus great recommendations for things to do and restaurant recommendations, as well as explicit details on the parking spot. I was thrilled. The thrill quickly faded as we approached the condo. The advertised photos were clearly taken YEARS ago. The living room furniture was worn and dingy. The tubs looked dirty and we bought cleaner before even attempting to shower. The black faucet had so much white calcification that we didn’t want to touch it, and was difficult to turn on because of it. Really didn’t want to touch anything. The ceiling fan in the dining room had dust and grime so obvious, that we didn’t turn it on, in fear of the dirt being dislodged and distributed onto our food. The patio furniture was literally falling apart. We did get a text from the owner after check-out apologizing for the condition of the patio furniture , explaining it was on backorder. It should have been replaced years ago. The patio space is shared with, I’m guessing, the owners condo. Although we never saw anyone, it was a bit unsettling that someone may have been there. I have no clue how anyone could give this property a good review - I feel duped that there are 5 stars from so many. Location was great, not much else was.
