B&B Le Clos Saint-Jean - Omaha Beach
10/10 Excellent
"The room was amazing! The host has a ton of knowledge on the local food and shops, and even makes an amazing breakfast, too! The house is centrally located in a perfect spot for anyone wanting to see D-Day history.
I hope to be back in Normandy again, and when I do, this is where I’ll stay! "

"Friendly lady handed us the keys and wished us a pleasant stay. The apartment was very clean. We cooked dinner both nights and had no problems. There is a grocery store and a gas station next door which is nice. The town was charming and all within walking distance. I would stay here again."

"Great location right on the coast.Maud and Maxime were excellent hosts. We exchanged multiple messages prior to our arrival in which they answered questions and provided helpful information. Although they speak only French – and our French doesn’t go much past Bonjour – we easily used Google Translate to communicate. The cottage is very nice and well-appointed, true to the photographs. Looking out onto the water with a sea breeze in your face is wonderful. Note: At 69 and a few weeks shy of 72, we had no problem with the spiral stairs. But these could be an issue for a person with limited mobility.Grandcamp-Maisy is a nice town. Bakery for your morning croissants a short walk. We had excellent meals at La Marine, Restaurant de la Marée, and L’Aristide. The Le déBARcadére bistro next door draws a quiet crowd and closes at 9pm. Never an issue with noise. Fun place to walk around the harbor and visit the shops. No problem parking our rental car in some spaces on the quay about 50 meters from the front door. Also a good, central location to explore the D-Day sights, Bayeux, and other areas of Normandy. Don’t miss Maisy Battery on the edge of town where you can actually walk through the German trenches / blockhouses and a couple of 155mm howitzers are still mounted on their emplacements. We would definitely stay here again."

Domaine des Piéris
10/10 Excellent
"Really beautiful and quiet place. Rooms are clean and the beds ultra comfortable. There is a heated pool on site, which unfortunately I didn't get to use as it was a brief overnight stay. Damien was very welcoming and attentive. Really lovely breakfast served - including some amazing homemade jams. Will definitely return here and highly recommend to all. "

"We had such wonderful stay here- there where 5of us and everyone had something that suited them. On arrival the host was extremely pleasant and whilst there was a language barrier we all managed to understand each other and she has leaflets to help. The ‘cottage’ itself was very spacious and beautifully decorated with a cosy rustic vibe that immediately had everyone starting to relax into the holiday. The space was well kept and clean. There was also a shared outdoor space which was great for my daughter as there were some other children there during our stay so she was able to play around with them in a safe space and there’s volleyball nets, trampolines etc plenty to entertain them. There was also a little boat that you could go on the pond with. The space at the front of the cottage had outdoor seating, sun loungers and a bbq. This was great for the evenings where we could sit at the bbq and chat with one another. The grounds are well maintained and lovely for a small walk in the mornings. Whilst it is out by itself (which aids in the peaceful quiet setting) you are not far from loads of different tourist attractions and grocery shopping by car. This place is perfect for anyone looking to get away from the rat race, reset and enjoy some peace. It is in a fab location where you can star gaze most evenings with a glass of wine. The pool is quite small if you had wanted to do lengths but it is a great size for a few people and or some small kids to keep an eye on them. 10/10"
