This charming cottage is located in Lamlash behind the historic Hamilton Terrace. This is a Grade II listed traditional ’back house’ that is tastefully and beautifully decorated. On the ground floor, the cottage has a cosy lounge with electric wall heaters, an open-plan kitchen/diner and a double bedroom and family bathroom. On the upper floor, there are two further bedrooms, a double and a single bed in the 3rd open-plan bedroom. This well-insulated property benefits from brand-new eco-friendly smart heaters in every room and a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
Lamlash is a picturesque village on the eastern coast of the Isle of Arran, Scotland’s seventh-largest island, often called “Scotland in miniature” due to its varied landscapes. Within 5 minutes, there is a small supermarket that opens till 10 PM most days. It includes a post office, the Aldersyde restaurant and bar, and 10 minutes to the lovely local cafe.
Situated on the edge of the Firth of Clyde, Lamlash offers breathtaking views of the surrounding waters, as well as the stunning Holy Isle, which lies just offshore. The village is known for its serene atmosphere, making it a popular base for exploring Arran’s natural beauty. A key attraction in Lamlash is Holy Isle, a peaceful retreat with a rich history. Accessible by boat, it is home to a Buddhist monastery, as well as nature trails that lead visitors through wildflower meadows, ancient woodlands, and rocky shorelines. The island is also steeped in Christian heritage, with early monasteries and St. Molaise’s hermitage adding to its spiritual significance. Back in the village, the Lamlash Pier is a charming spot where you can enjoy coast views and watch boats coming in and out of the harbour.
