Host and communication were excellent. Location was the best part of this house. Amenities seemed newer but still couldn’t shake the feeling of being in a basement. Great stay if that doesn’t matter and you like being close to beach and downtown IOP.
Really great place. Just know that this is the downstairs of a two unit house. Footsteps from upstairs guest will be heard. Otherwise a great place and location.
Please be aware when renting that this home it is only rented top and bottom. I was surprised that I had only rented the bottom. It was totally my fault though because I didn’t read the fine print. The bottom floor of the home was clean, and equipped with what you need … no nice little extras that many rentals leave for you ..Be aware also that it was difficult to lock the codedfront door . They sent us a clip to watch after trying to lock the door for several minutes. Also WiFi info posted is wrong inside the home . We had to look Inside the book provided for the correct password. Overall house is very clean and beds are comfy . Only the front living room TV works correctly.. Beach access is right across the street which makes it very nice..
It was a short walk to the beach- down 2 houses and across the street at the crosswalk. The beds were all comfortable with plenty of pillows and nice sheets. The whole house was clean. It was nice to have the screened porch on the side with the outdoor showers for rinsing off the kids and their stuff to keep sand out of the house. I wish I had brought a laundry hanging thing for bathing suits, but there were four rocking chairs on the front screened-in porch that we used to lay our wet stuff. The front porch was big enough for a swing, which the kids loved, and it kept them occupied while we packed.
The kitchen was okay, for a rental, but the knives were terrible, but I have Cutco at home so everything else is dull and awful to me. There was a good selection of plates, utensils, cups, etc. There were not any kitchen cooking supplies. I had packed some basic stuff, but there is a Harris Teeter about a half mile away that is convenient to go pickup stuff for breakfast and lunch.
The house was close enough that we went down to the beach in the morning, back to the house for lunch and a rest when it was super hot, and then back to the beach in the late afternoon.
The 7 of us all had a great time and I would definitely stay here again!
Great location- right across the street from the beach and .5 miles from town. Ample space with a good living room area and nice kitchen. Enjoyed our stay- thank you!
The house worked out well for us. The house was clean and ready for us as promised. We had very good communication with Vacasa from booking through departure. We enjoyed the easy access to the ocean and easy drive into Charleston.
Enjoyed our time at this rental! Easy, simple checkin process, got to the house and it was really clean, easy to access and well setup. Nice front porch to sit on in the mornings for coffee and there was even coffee there for us to make for the first morning which was great since we had a late arrival! Wish we could've had a late departure but understand that covid puts a wrinkle in the cleaning protocols. Found the whole place to be a nice getaway! We would definitely stay again.
Location was great. The toilet paper holder in one bathroom just hangs from the wall and the trash can should be replaced. More attention to the small details would be nice.
This duplex is dwarfed by all the surrounding posh beach front homes but the Property listing is accurate. I think the upstairs property is the primary listing and is somewhat more luxurious in furnishings. But for our Pandemic get away the downstairs property was more than adequate. Rooms clean but sparsely furnished. The sun porch was wonderful for the puppy and AM yoga, and the swing was a delight. Would suggest real mats in the bathroom and kitchen.(not just at the front door) Both bathrooms were showing their age, but were clean. Nice to have onsite laundry for all the sand!!. Only other suggestion is to provide the basic spices for cooking as a courtesy.
The only downside that we experienced, the A/C never got to the 70 degree we set, and needed to reset often. It seemed to default to 75. Also don't leave anything behind. They take your $25 non refundable fee, but I haven't heard about getting my items back. Hopefully I'll hear soon.

In the Dog House
I’ve never given a review in my life. I feel compelled. The premise to this review is to save someone from the disappointment we experienced. Pictures lie. This condo is not accurately depicted on the listing. It is a cinder block house, in terrible shape. Dark and dingy on the outside. Roaches on the porch, dead and alive. The condo smells like a wet dog. When you open the door, the smell is like a slap in the face. It has been updated some, but my 11 year old could have done a better job on the craftsmanship. The linens and pillows were stained with black dog hair all over them. The furniture was worn, stained and also covered in dog hair. The towels, beds and furniture smelled like wet dogs. It is obvious that this is purely an income property for the owner. I can’t imagine the owner of a property on Palm Blvd would stay at such a dump. Vacasa, your standards are low.
