「Even though this is an older property, the room was clean and well suited for our needs. The price was excellent and worked especially well since we were looking for a place that was simple, mainly a place to rest and sleep at night. It is close to downtown Williamsburg and near to restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We would stay here again」

「This was my first time staying at a budget hotel. This was just out of necessity needing to pull over somewhere to sleep on a road trip. Seemed like the people there tried to make it nice and the people themselves were nice but I'd never stay somewhere like that again. The room smelled like musty humid sweaty feet and I was afraid to walk around without socks or shoes on. The bed was ok but creaky as anything. Pillows were flat as pancakes but there was one fuzzy soft blanket so that was a plus...

「I wish I could think of one positive thing to say about my stay here. From problems at check in to being unable to contact anyone at the front desk. No hot water in the bathroom, a refrigerator that wasn’t cold. Putting a desk chair on rollers on a tile floor was a recipe for disaster as it slid out from under me and I fell. That was all topped off by coming back at the end of the day to find that my door had been left open by the cleaning staff. The woman who cooked the breakfast was very...

「We’ve stayed in various Colonial Williamsburg properties over the past 50 years. We were disappointed with the Woodlands. The parking lots were filled with potholes and we had to dodge a few to get to our building. The elevator was located off the lobby which required walking a long distance once we reached our floor. A more centrally located elevator would have been much nicer. The room was comfortable and clean. All in all, it was ok, especially for one night, but we won’t stay there again.」
