Iwate Prefecture Spa Hotel

"The room was on the small side, but the amenities were great. The best of course was the onsen on the top floor. Very relaxing, with free ice cream in the evening and free probiotic drink in the morning. They also had free drinks (soda) in the afternoon in the restaurant, and a free half bowl of Ramen from 9:30 in the evening. This is a little bit of a walk from the station, but definitely top of my list when I go back. "

"We were the only foreigners here, which was fun. The staff were incredibly kind and patient with us, even after we missed our dinner reservation. "The room had its own hot spring and living area, making it feel just like home—perfect for a relaxing stay. I also appreciated having access to the laundry facilities and massage chair. However, the two golden lion statues at the entrance were a bit intimidating."

"It was a large facility with a beautiful view of the lake. The view was even better due to the leaves changing colour. The hot springs baths were wonderful. The meals were spectacular as well."

"Superior double room is spacious by Japanese standards. Comfortable & clean. Simple no frills hotel. Hotel is not near station. Taxi to & from morioka station is affordable, between ¥600 - ¥800 one way. Breakfast is surprisingly good. Especially their French toast & thick yogurt drink. Must try! There’s a restaurant opposite on the right that sells Nattosoba & gyoza. Highly recommend checking it out too. "
