The street getting to this place is very rural and tight with no lights and we quickly realized that it would have been impossible for us to drive in and out of it easily at night. "This property would more appropriately be called a motel. However, it was everything we needed for our plans. Good location for our purposes and a very good price. We arrived later than expected but the proprietor was very accommodating and pleasant. One thing I really want to commend them for may sound odd, but it matters to us: there were blankets on the bed, not just a sheet and comforter. It amazes me that high end hotels will charge a lot of money for beds with no blankets, just heavy comforters that are too hot in the summer and when you throw then off, it is too cold with just the sheet. This sweet little place had nice blankets - old school and thank you!!"

The porch is perfect for waking up with the birds flying and the deer prancing in the lower yard while sipping the morning coffee. The home is perfectly located to all the best destinations the mountains have to offer."

"Pros:*Pet friendly!*Location was great, close to boat launch; quiet, secluded cove.*House was roomy, nicely decorated; ceilings fans appreciated!*Plenty of towels, extra toiletries.*Upstairs kitchen well stocked, including a slow cooker and Keurig.*Downstairs queen beds w/foam mattresses very comfortable!*AC worked well and stayed cold at night.*Downstairs de-humidifiers worked well, kept things dry.*Loved the deck and outdoor tables on upper level.*Gas grill was awesome, used it every day.*Loved the large, covered dock and swim ladder!Cons:*No closet downstairs to hang things or put things away.*Downstairs oven/stove was not hooked up, so not usable (also, no dishes or silverware downstairs.)*No reading lamps, so if you like to read in bed at night, bring a book light!*Outlets down at the dock did not work.*If you bring your own boat (like we did) be sure to drive down the hill to the lower driveway to turn around! No room to turn around w/boat on the upper driveway!Overall the four of us did enjoy our stay at this house on Lake Chatuge, and we especially appreciated that we could bring our dogs! We love the lake and it's getting harder to find pet-friendly places to stay there. It wasn't a 5-star place, but definitely a solid 4-4.5 stars, and we would certainly consider staying there again. Thank you!:)"
