Unpretentious and perfect

This is the kind of beach cottage I remember from childhood. Low-key, homey, and thoughtfully appointed, right down to novels by local authors. I could stay there for a month! The owner/manager lives downstairs and is pleasantly available if you need anything. You do have to get your suitcase up an exterior flight of steps, but he'll help you. You can see the ocean from the porch and walk to it in 2 minutes along a private boardwalk.

The view was the best thing.

We slept well and loved the view, but the shabbiness of the garage apartment was a shocker. It’s not a cottage. No tvs in the bedrooms. The only closet was shared with a washer and dryer. Cabinet doors in the kitchen would not close. Problems with keeping things plugged into the outlets. Living room furniture very uncomfortable. WiFi was good and TV had Dish satellite. AC worked very well.

We always enjoy our stay here. Cant beat the view and the beautiful sunrise. Owner was available when we had trouble finding the lock box (always appreciated!!) Thanks so much!

beautiful location, house needs improvement

The house is in a great location, however the inside needs some work. It looks far better in the picture than in reality. Our overall stay was a good mainly because we did not spend much time in the house as we enjoyed the fantastic location and proximity to the town, but the house really deserves some improvements.

Our stay

Our first trip to Fernadina was wonderful . Bud was super friendly and had the place in great condition when we arrived. We loved being steps away from the beach with our two boys and pups !

Fernandina Beach Direct Access

View and beach were beautiful. Beach was not crowded. The host who lived on the property was very cordial. Pet friendly I would have liked to see some things cleaner. The cottage was located directly on A1A and the noise was loud while trying to sleep. The stairs leading into the cottage would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Overall we had a great stay.

Fantastic View and super short walk to the Beach!

Loved that it was pet friendly! Sitting out on the deck provided a fabulous View each morning sunrise! It is 14 steps up to the unit, but that was totally fine with us. It had everything you needed in the kitchen for cooking! Extra towels / hand soap and toilet paper. Hate going to a place where this is very little and you have run out and buy asap. Very Quite and manager was super helpful when we called with a quick question. Would go to unit again.

Serene views and simple beach living

We stayed here for a long weekend and were super pleased. Easy access to the beach, safe area, nice neighbors and the cottage has everything you need. We especially loved that by being on the second floor we had a perfect view across the dunes to the ocean. Very nice to sit on the couch and watch the sunrise w coffee. Also well equipped with cooking necessities and beach towels. Fellow light sleepers — almost all the beachside housing in Fernandina backs right up to A1A so bring along your ear plugs. Worked like a charm. We’ll be back!

Good for few days at the beach.

Property was adequate to enjoy a few days at the beach. Lots of dust in corners. Cabinets don’t shut. Counter space was lacking. Kitchen wasn’t stocked well. Went to the store and bought wine glasses, cutting board and hot pads and utensils. Donated them to the cabin. TV was great. View was great. Location was great.

Little piece of heaven on the beach

Denis made us feel welcome, we loved the shabby chic mid century feel is perfect, amazing access to the beach. Denis recommended Sliders who had a live bad and great food. Happily recomend the cottage and hope to come back.

Charming walk to beach

This property is a beach front and not a fancy rental. The decor has been done very well and is as pictured. The walk to the fabulous beach is over a board walk which is next to the house. The rental is in need of some maintenance but this area just had a hurricane last September.

Not a good rental property

The house was filthy when we got there. There was hair on the sheets, the kitchen counters were not clean, the kitchen sink had some junk in it, and the floors were dirty. The temperature of the house was 44 degrees inside when we got there. It took all night of running the heat before the house became warm and there were insufficient blankets on the beds for a winter vacation. The house needs some carpentry work and a fresh interior paint job.

Comfortable Cottage on Beach

The space is comfortable & the kitchen is fit for a lot of different cooking. The beach view is fantastic from the 2nd story. During our stay we also encountered some kind neighbors, which was really nice.

Loved our Amelia Island getaway.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here, the property owner/manager was very friendly and helpful, the place was clean and cozy. The view was excellent from deck, and we flat out love this place and will hopefully return many times.

Lovely

This cottage is so retro! We loved it here! It had a comfortable feeling of being home. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was so awesome. We were running very late our first night because traffic was terrible. He actually waited up for us to make sure we got into the right space. There are a few homes here together owned by his family. There was a caretaker on site helping out, and he was so funny and so helpful. He gave us lots of tips about things to do. This location really is perfect. You just absolutely can’t beat the private boardwalk and beach access, and honestly, I swear that the sun and moon rose and set every day directly in front of that boardwalk! The cottage was well stocked. That was definitely a plus. There were more than enough beach towels, beach blankets, bath towels, cookware, toiletries. Really, we didn’t want for anything here. The backyard is lovely! They put a lot of time, effort, and love into making it such a special space. Our 9 yo son was thrilled catching geckos and lizards and following turtles and rabbits around! Thank you for sharing your space with us. We loved this cottage and the view was really just breathtaking. We hope to see you next year!

Exactly as Expected

We loved our stay here! The host was great and the beach access was wonderful! They even had bottles water and charcoal available for use, which we thought was above and beyond. The deck views really made this property!! We would definitely return to this property.

Perfect Getaway on the Beach!

From check-in to our entire 3 night stay, our host, Lindy, was very welcoming and accommodating. The view from our second story condo was spectacular and the condo itself was clean and comfortable with all the amenities needed to enjoy our stay. Highly recommend this location!
