Great house at a great location. We have come here a couple times and had a great stay each time. The location right on the river is perfect.

This property is located on a busy highway with a very short driveway. If you're bringing pets, they would need to stay leashed for safety. Also not shown in the pictures are three rustic camp sights next to the property, significantly diminishing any sense of privacy for all parties. Everything at the property was operational (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) except the vacuum cleaner. However, the state of the kitchen was surprising. The interior of the oven was dirty, drawers were stuffed full of utensils and junk, and I felt like I had to wash everything before using it. We own a vacation rental that is deep cleaned and organized at least annually. It did not feel like something similar was done at this house. The grass had not been mowed in what looked like three to four weeks causing concerns about ticks, snakes, and stepping in holes when attempting to walk down to the river, which I did. Although we brought this to the management company's attention, this was not remedied during our stay and made the yard impossible to enjoy.For the price, I wish I had paid closer attention to the previously published negative reviews.

Great location and views for river tubing.

Great place to stay on the river with great views and close to West Jefferson. Hot tub was a plus and the game room was nice. Spent more time in the river tubing and in the downtown west Jefferson for dinners and shopping. The house was not as clean as I thought it would be. Floors and under tables and corners of rooms were dirty. We had to wash sheets as they all looked dirty and in the bunk beds was a Smirnoff Ice behind the pillow. The sheets looked much better after washing. Then hot tub had sand in it when we uncovered but overall nice hot tub and great location of it. Grass needed cut so you could enjoy more of the outdoor area between home and river. Definitely worth tubing the river but this home was pricey for the cleanliness of it.

Thanksgiving Trip

We enjoyed our stay! Location was great! Only complaint was bunk bed room.. it was really hard to open and close doors, had to be done from the inside to open, as bunk beds block door. We had 11 year olds staying in there so it was okay, but just warning for those with younger children. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Location

The property was great, just as described. Location was perfect for Tubing at Zaloo’s. Had a couple great evenings by the fire. Only negative was the cleaners missed some items in the basement while cleaning.

Beautiful location

Really beautiful location. House was ok. Sleeps 10 but only had bathroom linens for 6, which was inconvenient. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful spot on the river

Overall very nice vacation spot. A little smaller than I anticipated, but we still had plenty of room with our family of 7. The deck & patio are beautiful right near the River.

Great Place to stay and fish on the New River

House was older and had an old smell to it. For use on the River it was perfect as we were not in the house for long periods of time. Location was great. Great wade fishing opportunity up and down the river in knee/waist high water. Caught 15 fish in 2 hours the afternoon we arrived.

Great River Access

Came to town for a wedding in Purlear and spent the week over Memorial Day. House was nice with plenty of space and great access to river. It had rained is 2 days and did still enjoy the hot tub. A "pop-up" campground for Memorial Day Weekend appeared next door and while it wasnt loud or anything just a nuisance of about 7 campsites. Beds slept good and was able to sleep well and others had same to say. Just up the road from Zaloo's kayak and tubing so there was traffic on road out front. Road busy during day but quieted down at night time. Easy drive to Jefferson and W Jefferson for groceries and went to Boone for a dinner. All in all a good experience and my dog loved the river as did I and family. I will be back and recommend it to other.
