Not a pleasing experience. Hotel Is rather old with no lift. I have reserved an extra big double room with 250 square feet but what I got is 3 small single beds. After explaining, I could only get a double bed room with about 200 sq feet. All the designated room was sold out. Besides, water will overflow from the drainage on the floor while taking bath. However, the location and the breakfast are quite good.

Location, location, location
Hotel location close to Jaffa Gate is excellent. The rooftop can capture a gorgeous view of the old Jerusalem city. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the bathroom is disappointing. The floor is wet after shower.

They ignore our special request
We have the separated booking of the hostel. But every order has written the special request! They didn’t review our request and there is no way to solve after we arrived. Even our order has been placed half years ago! We did get free breakfast as compensation( the breakfast is nice) but we still didn’t have a pleasant stay in stay inn hostel.

Not bad for young people.
Great location right at Jaffa Gate, it's the best you can ask for- safe, convenient.
For this price do not expect 5-star hotel accommodations. I had a single room for myself, the bathroom is small, the room is old, but it was good enough for me.
The reception is very friendly and helpful, while the breakfast was just so so.
Overall I would recommend it because it was not bad for lone travelers like me who has a budget and has minimal stay in the room.

Charming vintage rustic feel with a clean touch. Easy access to hotel from airport. There is a pharmacy, a small convenience store and restaurant built into the first floor. Owner and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect location to all old city attractions and buses to Bethlehem right outside the Jaffa gate. There is a nice modern outdoor strip mall outside gate next to hotel as well with restaurants and shops.

Friendly staff but hotel room was very dirty incluiding the sheets. Made the beds sloppy did not throw away garbage the last two days of my stay. I won’t be staying there when i return to israel. Gave a two star because some staff was very friendly besides that the hotel stay wasn’t nice especially for the price i paid.

Great location but entrance is up an alleyway with difficult to see sign.
The manager is first class, very helpful and friendly.
Interesting history and character of the building.
Breakfast is excellent.
Good size room.
Quite a bit of street noise at busy Jaffa Gate.
Bed only a double not a queen and hard. Top sheet was for a smaller bed.
Lots of stairs and only a luggage elevator for first level.

I have now stayed in the New Imperial Hotel twice for a total of eighteen nights, all in room #8. It is my home away from home. The Dajani family is one of the five most prominent families in Jerusalem, and their management of the New Imperial is flawless. The rooms are well-appointed, service is prompt and professional, the daily breakfast is delicious, and the family goes out of their way to make guests feel at home. I love it. I miss it! I'll be back.

This hotel is a gem. Great, central location in Jerusalem and right inside Jaffa Gate. Safe, clean and comfortable. Terric breakfast included. Every staff person i interacted with was friendly, helpful and kind. The building itself dates from the 1880s which gives it charm and authenticity, but my room & bathroom were clearly 21st century. AC included. No elevator, so be prepared to climb stairs. The front desk man helped me & several others carry our bags. Lovely hotel. I will be back.

The breakfast was very different than a typical American breakfast. Everything fresh, lots of vegetables and healthy food. The staff was wonderful and it was conveniently located inside the old city. Great restaurant just around the corner called The Oak. Lots of shopping around and the roof top is wonderful for views and time together. Most of the staff are family and were some of the nicest people we met during our stay. Also listen to Amir the man running the place. He can get you tours and taxis a lot cheaper than you on your own.

In the Old City - short walk to Kotel, Mamilla and Ben Yehuda. Taxis near by. Train from airport to CBD and then light rail to City Hall stop and walk to Jaffa gate. Well done dear friends!
