“Upon our arrival we were upgraded to a suite and it was excellent. the front desk staff were super accommodating and always seemed to be working, no matter the hours. The rooms are spacious and super clean. We rented a car and there was underground parking. We love walking and could easily walk to the old town ( about 20 minutes) and eat and shop. However, there was also an amazing bakery about one block ( around the corner)from our hotel where we picked up breakfast and sandwiches for the day.……

“The owner is amazing. My phone had died so I didn't directions to get to the hotel. I found a shop owner that called her and she walked 10 minutes to where I was and walked me back. Each room is individualize and mine had a private entrance. There were lots of personal touches that made the place feel special. I can't recommend this hotel more. If I am ever back in Chania I will stay here again.”

“The staff were all very friendly and plenty of them speak English. The condition of the room was fanatic! “Das Preis-leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Wer eine günstige Unterkunft, nur zum übernachten sucht wird es in Ordnung finden. Die Reinigungskraft hat täglich die Räumlichkeiten gereinigt und das Bett gemacht, das war positiv. Leider ist die Unterkunft 45-50 Minuten fußläufig vom Strand entfernt. Auch ins Stadtzentrum und zum venezianischen Hafen läuft man mindestens 40 Minuten. Die Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe, man muss aber gut auf die Abfahrtzeiten achten. ”

“We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable room and common areas, very clean and well looked after, pool a bit cold (end of May). Breakfast and dinner tasty however food could’ve been warmer. Just a short drive from a beautiful Falassarna beach. Nice and quiet, private and not crowded as only 15 rooms at this property. Situated in the heart of a small village, surrounded by taverns but not much to do in the area itself. Good if you have a transport to explore……

“The flat was brilliant and not too distant from the old town - 10 minute walk. However when I arrived at the property there was no receptionist and a sign pointing to the e-reception. I rang the bell on the keypad and got no response. I finally found a phone number and got through to someone who gave me a code to access my key - it was a real pain to search for a number I could contact them on - they had contacted me by email the day before to ask for my arrival time, and could easily have given……

“We stayed at Portou House for 5 nights and had an excellent time. Very good location in Chania Old Town. Communication was great from start to finish with Julia being very responsive. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine for my Partner’s birthday which was a nice touch.
