Excellent condo in perfect location

We had an excellent stay at Kapalua Bay Villas. The condo is well-appointed, with a beautiful kitchen and wonderful large bathroom—I already miss the room-sized shower! The view from the Lanai is superb, with a magnificent view of the ocean and sunsets. The condo's location, near beaches, parks, stores, and restaurants, is also excellent. There's also a lovely beach at the base of the Villas that we didn't discover until our last day! My only minor issue was that the condo is in a gated community and we were not given the code to the electronic gate. We were very lucky that a worker was staying late in the office the night we arrived, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get to our condo. Once inside, I called Vrbo and eventually got a call back with the code. I'd advise everyone to make sure you get the gate code BEFORE you arrive! The Kapalua Villas are superb. I definitely would return here in the future, and I highly recommend the Villas to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay with an ocean view in a great location.

Great property, but working with vacasa is thumbs down

We loved the property. Good location: short walk to the beach, but little bit far away from shops and restaurants in Lahaina. Since the property is so far north there is always a bit of wind, but the patio is well shielded from the wind. The inside of the property was well equipped, and very clean. However, the shower was little bit disappointing - i don't know how to describe it; but it wasn't as enjoyable. At one point we wished we had a bathtub instead. the internet is good, but the wifi access point is in the back in the bedroom, so the signal get very weak in the kitchen and patio. It would be better if the wifi AP was in the living room. Right outside of the bedroom are the AC units for this and other spaces, so at night you will hear a lot of AC noise. The space has two TVs - which we didn't use at all. But has no speakers, which was very disappointing to me. It would be nice to have few small bluetooth speakers. They don't need to be large. The space feels soo much more enjoyable with some nice and mellow music. Dealing with Vacasa was very disappointing. I'd rather rent from a person than a rental company. Vacasa has their own app, which you have to use to get the check in code. The app worked fine before the trip, but on the day of arrival it logged me out two times, and got all dorked up just as i was trying to open the door. Besides the checkin code, the app does not offer anything more or better then VRBO app does. So, Vacasa: kill the app it is waste of time! Additionally, the app had only the code for the front door. The code for the vehicle gate was not provided to us. We had to have someone let us in. There is no way to reach Vacasa, and I had to call them to ask for the code, I didn't get the code for 2 full days. Additionally, I never got the code for the pool gate. The only other way to communicate with Vacasa is to send them an email. Which i did. I sent them an e-mail 2 weeks prior to my trip to ask for extra flowers to be placed in the rental - they never responded. So there you go, if you want to rent from unresponsive agency go ahead; But I will not.

a little slice of heaven.

location, view, property...all were perfect! So hard to leave. Unfortunately, we spent much time our first 2 days communicating with the management company over a parking pass they said was required to park onsite without being towed. After15 emails back and forth, multiple phone calls promising someone was on their way to bring us the pass, and concern over our rental being towed, we were notified via text on our 3rd day letting us know there was a mistake, and a parking pass wasn't needed. Very frustrating to have wasted time on our short trip.

A Great Maui Escape

We thoroughly enjoyed this well-situated and well-appointed modern condo. Secluded and quiet, with plenty of walking paths and beaches nearby. It's a bit far from the rest of the island, but close to the best snorkeling spots. Fine furniture and decor, great lighting, GREAT views, and all the necessary appliances. Nice personal touches throughout. We especially appreciated the very modern kitchen and bath and the screened window-vents all around that let the Hawaiian breeze blow through while keeping out the critters. The wifi was so handy for researching restaurants and keeping in touch with family, and the blu-ray player should be noted. We brought some discs and the system worked perfectly. Overall, absolutely nothing was lacking. We truly felt like guests of a friend and hope to come back again someday soon.
