Overall we had a great holiday but in a sense it was in spite of the apartment. There was no greeting on arrival … we wondered around not knowing where to register - with some bawdy comments from another resident. The first night the apartment smelled intensely of smoke…and it was very damp and smelly under the sink such that I told George, the ineffective manager, that I wanted a refund and we would leave and find somewhere else. George suggested we could move to another apartment (nobody had complained before, he said) - and the alternative was much better, although it turned out it’s a/c didn’t work… so George provided an elderly fan which was remarkably effective and cheered us up. So we resolved to stay - and once the loud-mouthed group had diminished and finally left, we enjoyed the facilities of the pool and curious bar (run by George). We had hired a car at the airport and toured the island during our stay - but were always pleased to be staying in the lovation
