"This year our visit was a little more adventurous than last. The floods that hit the area a week before our trip took out part of the local bridge and we had to take the long way around to get to the house. Mona, our host, called the night before to go over options, in case we did not feel comfortable taking the "scenic route.' Mona was very accomodating to whatever we wanted to do. In the end, we knew the Labrynth was worth it. The scenic route was beautiful and added a little bit of adventure to our trip. Once we arrived, everything was just as we expected except the floods had damaged the pump that feeds water to the house. We called Mona and she jumped into action! She walked across the river and then spent a couple of hours finding the problem. Then she even hauled water up to the house from the river for the night. Early the next morning, as promised, the pump was fixed! This little place is worth it to us! This year mother nature threw us a curve ball, but our host understood the assignment! She was extremely responsive through everything and wanted us to be able to enjoy our time away. This was our second year and I am sure that we will be back!!"

"Teddy and I found the perfect little getaway at Rio Escondido near Uvalde, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Teqyila Sunrise cabin. It is tucked away just south of Camp Wood, this peaceful retreat has only 4–5 cabins, each with private river access, adorable views, and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever shared on a trip. We also loved exploring Uvalde’s cute boutiques and I came home with a new Consuela bag and wallet.Nathan, the property care taker, was friendly, greeted us upon arrival, and very informative in regard to the rainy weather. This little slice of heaven is definitely going on our favorites list—we’ll be back!"
