    Gather your friends and family at this charming Victorian country house, set in peaceful Cumbrian countryside with sweeping views of the Howgill Fells. With room for up to 15 guests, it’s perfect for joyful reunions, special celebrations, or relaxed getaways.

    Inside, you'll find warm, welcoming spaces designed for comfort and connection - from the cosy sitting rooms and deep sofas to the large, fully refurbished kitchen ideal for group meals. Want to fully relax? We can recommend excellent local chefs to cater your stay.

    A welcome hamper greets you on arrival, filled with local goodies like fresh sourdough bread, award-winning marmalade, and homemade cakes and biscuits.

    Outside, there is a large south-facing terrace and mature gardens with towering trees, with plenty of space for games, picnics, or simply soaking up the view. The Coast-to-Coast path passes just outside the property, offering brilliant walking and cycling straight from the door. You’re also just minutes from Smardale Nature Reserve and seven miles from the charming market town of Kirkby Stephen.

    At the end of the day, enjoy a barbecue or gather around the fire pit under dark, star-filled skies.

Myself and 11 others stayed at Brownber Hall. A mix of all ages for a weekend of outdoor activities during the day and evenings by the fire pit. We had the most fantastic time! it's unheard of to go to a rented property and find that the place is actually bigger and better that what was listed (and what is listed is top brass to begin with) The place has everything! and so many rooms you can easily get lost. Large communal spaces, lounges and kitchen/ dining areas. The bedrooms are spacious and fresh with plentiful en-suites! the added bonus of the bar and the cinema room just topped it off. Would highly recommend and would absolutely love to come back! Massive thank you to Peter for the clear communication from the beginning!

Having stayed in a number of big houses with large groups we have a lot to compare this property to and the consensus was that this is the best we have visited. Description of the property probably doesn't do it justice. Facilities are excellent. Kitchen very well equipped and the space was great for a foodie family to share a feast there. Everywhere was really clean. Owners were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

A stunning property with incredible views. Brilliantly decorated in a way that felt both stylish and homely.The grown ups loved the tiny bar, the kids loved the cinema room, we all loved the comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. And all the space!Delicious homemade bread and cakes provided by the hosts. Walks right from the house.We are hoping to return, as we didn't get to enjoy the house enough, since we were out at a wedding for most of the time.Thanks for a great stay.
