The picturesque harbour fishing town of Kirkcudbright, 'The Artists' Town', is 2.5 miles and provides, amongst other things, art exhibitions, galleries, eating out, golf, fishing, library, medical centre, pubs, indoor swimming pool, specialist shops and vet. The very popular Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities, including the Thursday pipe band evenings, provide some of the many highlights of the year in Kirkcudbright.
