  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! The beach was a short walk and we got up early to enjoy the sunrise one morning. Everyone enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. Lots of fun things to do and beautiful nature preserves with boardwalks close by. Definitely recommend!!

Absolutely perfect house and great price!!! 5 minutes walk to the beach, house is clean and three full bathrooms are big and perfect for a week long trip!!! The pool and grill were all awesome and we used them the whole week!! Supplies us with pool towels and bath towels and clean sheets for all the beds!!! Definitely recommend and would book again.

Schools out! Start of summer vacation!

We had a great stay at the Beach Rabbit house! The house itself was very clean and updated. The pool and the hot tub in the backyard were well maintained. We loved the area of Southern Shores the house was located in and the trees around the yard made the house feel like a private get away. The cupboards were well stocked with kitchen utensils and diningware and there were plenty of towels and paper products during the stay. We were impressed by the staff that came to the house to maintain the landscaping during our stay. Our family is definitely interested in renting this house again in the future.
