  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Hurricane Holiday Fun!!!:)

This unit fit our family wonderfully. It is in a quite neighborhood, nice privacy, and easy access both north and south. The unit is well kept, spacious and laid out very nice. Great room and kitchen was perfect or our family. Loved the pool and hot tub.

wonderful home!

This property was perfect for our family. We chose this house because it offered a bunk room for the kiddos (a requirement!- please don't change it). The location to the beach was perfect, yet secluded. Outdoor shower and NEW deck and crows nest were a bonus!

Perfect for relaxing getaway

The house was cozy and nestled in a private wooded area. Yet, despite the quiet setting, we were just a short walk down a quiet street from the beach. Perfect retreat for a family. Overall the house was pretty clean - But the mattresses were incredibly firm. The house had everything we needed to cook and many handy appliances! The exterior could use some better maintenance - the pool and hot tub could use a clean out due to a build up of sand. Also the pool area was very sandy which welcomed the many fire ants that surrounded the grassy areas. We would definitely return and had a great visit to OBX!

Overall good place.

We cooked a lot the skillets were awful. Burnt skillets. You could consider a sponge packet and a bottle of all purpose cleaner as that is something a person would not bring. I have rented a lot of places and small things like these are always supplied. Overall we had a wonderful time. Beach close enough to walk to The credit for the rentals were great we rented the bikes and they were a great hit. I would highly recommend them

Great location and space with minor issues

We had a great thanksgiving week here. Location was perfect for walks to beach. Hot tub and main upstairs room were great. A few gripes however... house was not totally clean (carpeted stairs stained and worn, Cheerios under couches, dog poop on outside deck, used face mask under bed), fireplace, outdoor shower and ice maker never worked (although we were provided with two bags of ice) and beds were super uncomfortable. Still it was a great week and with minor fixes would totally rent again.

Nice Visit

We had a nice time! The weather was beautiful until it was time to go home... couldn’t ask for more! The house location was great... very private!
