Great beach house

Room for everyone - great wrap around deck and views. Ice neighborhood for bike riding. Great kitchen!

Great house!

This property was great for our large family with a huge common area and great outdoor spaces. The king bedrooms are big and comfortable. The porches are great for enjoying the beautiful views and for the kids to play. We had everything we needed except beach gear and basics like handsoap and dish detergent. We've stayed at many OBX homes over the years and have never stayed somewhere that didn't have at least chairs to use until now. This would have been an issue for our big crowd if the weather had been better. The beds were comfortable but the duvets smelled a bit like BO and the pillows are old and flat. If we stay here again we'll definitely bring our own pillows and more bath towels. Great location and private beach access!

The location of house was great. The house itself was very out dated. most of furniture was broken. The elevator was broken and our luggage got stuck and we had to wait for 3 hours for someone to come fix it. After all of that the realty company Outer Banks blue was very unprofessional and also charged my credit card$50 after our stay. After I contacted them they said there was a scratch on a bedroom table and asked if I authorized a 50 charge. I said no but the next day they charged my card anyway. Very upset.

Wonderful Outdoor Space

We knew when renting this property that the house was a little dated. The proximity to the beach and outdoor space were our primary reasons for renting and we weren’t disappointed! The decks, especially the top level, were great. The trex material made it easy to enjoy in bare feet and our toddler had a great time running around. The decks were so clean and there weren’t any issues with spider webs or excessive bugs which we’ve experienced in previous properties. The view from deck was wonderful and the covered portion made it very easy for anyone wanting to sit in the shade to enjoy the beach. We rocked our infant to sleep for a nap in a rocking chair on the deck most afternooons. The wrap around portion allowed a breeze even when the wind was coming from the sound side. On the lower level deck, the outdoor showers were so clean and private that we used them regularly to shower. The walkway to the beach was nice and smooth and provided very easy beach access. Despite a beach access located a few houses away, the beach was not crowded. The house was very clean when we arrived. The bathrooms show signs of age/wear, but it was obvious that they had been well-cleaned when we arrived. The furniture is older but comfortable. The TV on the main level is small but the one on the middle level is well-sized for anyone who wants to watch. The kitchen was large and well-outfitted and worked well for our large family. It was nice to be able to get everyone around the same table. Outer Banks Blue was a wonderful company to rent through. The property was clean upon arrival. They were very easy to communicate with and extremely responsive when we had an issue with the coffee maker. Their checkin and checkout procedures were very clear. There were a couple things about the house that made me a little nervous with small children. The front door has a code to open the door and automatically locks when the door closes, so there isn’t a way to lock it manually inside. The handle is a lever, which my toddler could open very easily. I would have preferred a way to lock the door manually, or to have a deadbolt of some kind so that it wasn’t so easy for a toddler to open himself. The horizontal railings on the deck look very nice but are easy for children to climb so it’s very important that kids are closely monitored on the deck at all times. Overall we had a great time and would definitely rent again! The deck was hands down the best part.

Midgett 2022 OBX Trip

Elevator was great. One family member had a boot on foot so was very helpful. The view was spectacular no matter where you were on top deck. Great setup, Adults on top floor, kids on second. It worked out so great. Will rent again

Great week in a great house!

Klein Cottage was an ideal house for the week. Having no an elevator makes it user friendly for someone with mobility issues. House was clean and furnishings are nice. Easy access to beach especially with young children. Hope to rent again in future!
