As is to be expected, there are a lot of narrow and winding single lane roads to get to the cottage but, once there, the location is absolutely stunning. If you want peace, quiet and beautiful scenery this is the place for you. Absolutely fantastic for dog walks too. You need to drive about 10 minutes into Knighton for supermarkets and a selection of eateries/takeaways, but there is a pub in the village just a few minutes' drive down the road from the cottage which sells food to eat in or take out. The cottage itself is the perfect size for a family of four. There was just myself, my husband, our 16-year-old daughter and our Labrador on this break, so there was plenty of room. Comfy sofas in the living room, dining table for four and the covered porch area is nothing short of massive, with plenty of garden furniture, as well as an additional tall fridge freezer. Great sized enclosed garden with lounger chairs, A-frame bench and a goal! Perfect for boys and girls wanting to kick a ball around. The hot tub is under a brick and timber gazebo so you can still use it on those rainy days. The bathroom was spacious (which is unusual for a rental in my experience) with plenty of room in the shower cubicle. The two bedrooms were a good size with a good amount of storage. The only downside for me was the bed. I do suffer with my back and I found the bed to be really uncomfortable. However, when we mentioned this to the owner, she did her best to help by added a quilt to the mattress to act as a topper. Unfortunately it did not really assist, which was a shame. I would suggest that perhaps having a good quality mattress topper to hand to add to a bed for guests would be a good idea. This is the only reason we dropped a point, otherwise this cottage would have definitely received a 10/10 from us. A fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. Highly recommended.
