Holiday Let In Stunning Location, Great For Families And Outdoor Enthusiasts
Stoer Villa is a recently refurbished traditional home, that is spacious and cosy - ideal for families and large groups. A perfect base for outdoor activities, Stoer has stunning views of the sea and mountains, great fishing, and a beautiful sandy beaches.
Stoer Villa is a late 19th century stone house, with a modern kitchen extension and large front and back gardens. The interior has been completely refurbished, but in keeping with the style of building. Downstairs we have three main rooms (kitchen, dining room and living room) and two bathrooms. The kitchen is brand new and comfortably sits eight. The dinning room is an attractive space, with traditional furniture, and sits a further six. The living room has a wood-burning stove, comfortable sofas and a large flat-screen TV (smart-TV and satellite). Of the three upstairs bedrooms, one is en suite and one is set up as a kids' room. The kids' room has a bunk bed and the other two rooms have twin beds. The living room sofa also doubles as a bed for extra guests or those who find stairs difficult. All three bathrooms are equipped with modern showers. Please note the attic bedroom is currently unavailable.
Whether you are looking for relaxing family orientated activities or more adventurous outdoor pursuits, Stoer is the perfect base. There is a beautiful white sand beach less than 250 m from the front door, and two others within 3 miles. There are many easier coastal walks, with fantastic sea views across to the Minch to the Outer Hebrides. The quiet single lane roads around Stoer are excellent for cycling and provide spectacular mountain and sea views. Several tour operators offer boat tours out of Lochinver, pony trekking, and various other activities, such as Lama trekking. The area is popular for fishing. You can fish for Brown trout on any of the smaller lochs for free, and salmon fishing is available on Loch Assynt and the River Assynt. There is also excellent sea fishing. For the hard-core outdoor enthusiast, you can hike up Sulliven, one of Scotland's most remote summits, or any of the other hills to the north and south. The coast is superb for sea kayaking (kayaks can be rented locally), and the area is well known for rock climbing. Excellent longer cycling trips can be made along the coastal roads.
The house comfortably accommodates six adults and two children. With assistance, a wheelchair guest could manage the ground floor and use the sofa-bed, but the house is not strictly wheelchair friendly. All bedrooms are fitted with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Pets are permitted, but smoking is not permitted in the house. The house energy efficiency rating is Band E (44).
