“Absolutely loved this property! We chose this home at Rumbling Bald to accommodate family for our son’s wedding which was onsite. We had 10 adults, an infant, and a dog. The space was perfect. The bottom level was its own private space which was perfect for the family members with the baby. The main level bedroom fit our needs so our elderly parents did not have to climb stairs and the upstairs bedrooms were spacious enough for the rest of the crew. “We stayed at the Dogwood Treehouse during the ice storm FERN in January of 2026. We knew going in that there was a chance we could get stuck, but we had been planning this trip for nearly a year and didn’t want to cancel. We don’t get away very often just the two of us, and we’re so glad we didn’t.The cabin was outstanding. It was extremely clean, very well maintained, and thoughtfully stocked. “My husband, our dog and I spent a week in this wonderful, well appointed home located on picturesque property surrounded by massive Rhododendrons and moss & lichen-covered old hardwoods. There is a small, shallow creek in the backyard great for splashing around in the cool water. The hot tub was so relaxing. “Didn't receive check in instructions until 15 minutes prior to arrival (had asked for them well beforehand). Upon arrival the home was still being cleaned and continued well after our arrival - with just adequate results. The Sauna was not operative throughout our stay. The pool was not used, as it was not heated. The Pool Table was OK but the corner pockets were dislocated from the table and the table was located too close to one wall where you could not play a shot on that side of the……

“Everything was falling apart. Water was coming up through the floor. We couldn’t use one bedroom because the door and frame were falling off and had to be removed. We had to tighten screws and bolts on the tables. Everything outside is overgrown including trees growing in the gutters. The list is long. ”
