"we really enjoyed this trip, jack and his crew were absolutely fantastic and the food was so so good (thank you Chris!). we saw penguins and seals and the hot tub was brilliant at night listening to the owls and birds. due to the rainfall during the night the waterfalls were absolutely epic the best we've ever seen. the cabin was clean and the beds super comfy so we got a great nights sleep. we got the tender out which was great and everyone enjoyed the kayaking and swimming. the whole trip was so enjoyable, absolutely 100 % would recommend "

"The wilderness retreat is a beautiful and peaceful little oasis on the dart river and the drive in/out is stunning. The kitchen had everything you needed and it was nice to make some connections in the common area. The showers have a 10 min light timer on them for the sake of sustainability which I understand but is just something to note after a long day of adventuring. We stayed here in the midst of doing van life on S Island and the bathrooms were similar to the holiday parks. Public, lots of bugs and kind of stinky but there were enough that I never had to wait for one when needed. "

"Amazing place for an amazing price. Area is quiet and away from the city lights so the view of the stars at night are super clear. Clifton was really nice and an accommodating host. Would highly recommend this place if you want somewhere more peaceful and quiet but still close to Queenstown."

"The property is brand new and well maintained, with a little of smell of fresh house. The view is truly impressive— we were even able to see a rainbow from the window, which was a lovely surprise. However, the Wi-Fi connection was quite slow during our stay, which may be inconvenient for guests who need stable internet access. In addition, I would strongly recommend booking dinner in advance or bringing sufficient food supplies. When we arrived at 1:30, the restaurant was already fully booked, and we were only able to have some snacks instead of a proper meal. Unfortunately, the children had to wait until the next morning to have a full breakfast. Overall, it is a beautiful place with great scenery, but guests should plan ahead regarding meals and internet needs. "
