Enjoyed our stay. The owner was very hospitable. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The entire inn appeared well maintained. Will recommend the inn to our friends. The secure bike storage is a nice amenity.

Maybe it was late in the season, but this was a great place to get away and relax. We were in town for Commonweal theatre, so didn't "use" the place a lot, but one could imagine just sitting outside watching the river flow.

Our room was directly beneath the lobby, so we would ask for a different room, as it was quite noisy when people were walking across. The owners were amazing - friendly and very helpful. The site was lovely with plenty of places to sit outside. We loved it.

The location is peacefully located at the edge of the town and was an easy 1/2 mile walk for us to explore. Some rooms are accessible, ours required stairs. Rooms, Ice, amenities, and morning coffee are are accessible via a convenient 4 digit code texted to you morning of check-in. Peaceful by river, nice patio and gracious yard. Beds comfortable.

Green Gables was very nice and perfect for our needs. It’s close to the Root River bike trail and has protected bike storage which was important since there was a big storm that went through the night we were there. Breakfast of coffee and muffins was really all we needed. Gardens we’re well kept and gazebo is a great place to sit and read.

Perfection

Gorgeous grounds in a very convenient location. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and our room A8 was absolutely spotless. Loved the plush towels and cozy linens. There was even a bike shed where we could store our bikes overnight as we forgot to bring locks.

We enjoyed everything. Gentleman met us before we even got out of our SUV. INFORMED US WHERE EVERYTHING WAS. ROOM VERY NICE AND CLEAN. OTHER GUEST QUITE PLEASANT TO VISIT WITH.THE ONLY THING I wiuld say is the mosquitoes were awfull and I am terribly allergic to them. BUT tgey cant do anything about that they are right on the water. Grounds aee beautiful. Will book again

We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables Inn. The property was extremely clean and well appointed, which is always my top priority when traveling — and it exceeded my expectations. Before check-in, we appreciated being able to access restrooms and filtered water since we biked the Root River Trail earlier in the day. The locked bike storage was a huge plus, providing peace of mind with secure, temperature-controlled space and plenty of outlets for charging e-bikes. Overall, it was a comfortable and thoughtfully designed place to stay, and we would definitely return. A couple of small recommendations that would make the experience even better: Adding a top sheet over the bed blanket for sanitary reasons Switching from individual packets of soap, shampoo, and conditioner to refillable bottles for convenience and sustainability Highly recommend Green Gables Inn for anyone visiting Lanesboro!

Its a lovely location with very comfortable and clean,super clean! rooms. Parking was difficult as I came back late and as the spaces aren't marked people parked poorly taking up multiple spaces. I spoke with the owner in the morning and he was very nice. Told him the people in the room next to me were very loud until after 1 in the morning and he recognized the problem immediately. It's not so much the hotels' fault as rude guests but he apologized many times and proposed a solution that he could make which was a very positive outcome. I am not a fan of contactless check in as a woman traveling alone I like to know someone knows who I am. Would like the option to check in in person (if that exists it wasn't made clear to me). Overall, yes I would absolutely stay here again. Nice owner, lovely setting, very comfortable and clean room.

This was my first visit to Lanesboro for a fly fishing adventure, and staying at the Green Gables Inn made the whole experience even more memorable! The room was spotless, cozy, and felt like a true home away from home. The property itself is a gem—nestled right along the river, with beautiful gardens and plenty of peaceful spots to sit back and enjoy the view. Birdwatchers and wildlife lovers, take note: there’s no shortage of feathery and furry visitors to keep you company. The owners were absolutely wonderful—genuinely kind, welcoming, and full of great local tips. They made me feel like an old friend from the moment I arrived. Already counting down the days till next year’s trip. Green Gables Inn, you’ve officially earned a repeat customer!
