"This is not the adults-only experience younger travelers might expect. The resort feels more geared toward seniors and has a very quiet, low-energy atmosphere. If you’re looking for a lively, child-free getaway, this may not be the right place for you. The food was also very disappointing. I’m not a picky eater, but the quality was far below what I would expect from a 5-star resort. I’ve stayed at 4-star resorts with much better food. To make matters worse, there was ongoing construction in two buildings — one near the main lobby and amenities, and one close to our room. We were not informed in advance and paid full price. The daily noise from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. made it hard to relax. Overall, I would not recommend staying here and suggest looking at other options."

"Let’s start with the room service. We had to ask for towels at least 4 times during our 1 week stay. Towels were old, raggedy and literally falling apart. They didn’t stock our mini feodge daily and our amenities were never restocked (aside from the shampoo and body wash). Anytime we had a question we had to go to the client service center and they tried to sell us a timeshare EVERY TIME. In order or have dinner at one of the restaurants, other than the buffet, you had to make reservations at most 72 hours in advance, in person at the service center. You couldn’t just call or make them for the entire stay (which in our case was only 1 week). Food and drinks were mostly bad. I got food poisoning the 2nd night there. So did 2 other people in my party. The pharmacy at the resort charged 9 times more than the normal cost for medication. The same meds I bought in the resort for $500 mxps I bought for $60 mxps outside the resort. All pools closed at 8 pm and the towel and activities center closed 6pm. We witnessed a lot of clients complaining, on a daily basis, for the same and other reasons. During our stay, there was a child accident at the children’s pool that did not have a life guard on duty and staff escalated the situation by fighting with one of the child’s family members. Further there was not first aid administered by the resort. Two tourists rendered aid to the child. On a positive note, most of the staff and servers were friendly and polite. "

"This resort was amazing! My boyfriend and I spent 8 days here and loved it! They have great entertainment every day/night and the food at the restaurants is actually VERY good. The staff is super kind and very helpful. We have zero complaints about this place! "

"My fiancé and I stayed at Atelier and it was absolutely AMAZING! Truly the best all-inclusive food I’ve ever had. The service was also incredible. In particular, we had so much fun with Miguel when we were enjoying drinks and food in the beach area — he was always anticipating whatever we needed before we even asked! He and Andres were so kind and attentive, especially since I was practicing my Spanish. We also had an amazing time at the bars around the hotel. El Cielo was incredible, and Alberto, Danilo, and Karen took such great care of my fiancé and me during our visit up there. They were truly wonderful. This was easily the best food and service I’ve experienced at an all-inclusive resort. I’m so grateful to the staff for making our stay so special and for giving me such a great opportunity to practice Spanish. We can’t wait to come back! 💛"

"We just returned from a weeklong trip to Xcaret Arte. What a beautiful resort! We had the basic Garden Suite and the room was gorgeous! The food was the best we have ever had at an all-inclusive resort. The staff at the resort is very friendly and they go out of their way to make your stay special. The free transportation and entrance to the various Xcaret parks was the cherry on top. We highly recommend this resort. I can’t wait to return!"

"We had an ocean view room. The room was beautiful and well equipped. The staff are exemplary, very attentive and kind. Having the 24/7 snack bar was appreciated as well as the coffee bar (with pastries and ice cream). The nightly entertainment was outstanding. Cons: For an adult only large resort, there should be more than one bar (and it closes at 11:00). The gym was filthy and machines were old and rusty. Towels weren’t replenished as needed. The food is mediocre at best but you should be able to find something you like. Lastly, there is NO beachfront. The sargasso is overwhelming and very stinky. If you want beach, you must walk away from the resort to public access. "
