Set in the south of the Haute-Vienne, just a few miles away from the Dordogne and the Corrèze, the Limousin is wonderful to explore with its rich history and beautiful countryside. Often overlooked and bypassed, the Haute Vienne offers you the perfect piece of rural France to enjoy a family holiday full of relaxation, good food, culture, and memories.

This recently renovated property is set in a small hamlet just outside the medieval village of Le Chalard, and a 10 minutes drive away from the charming town of St-Yrieix-la-Perche and all its amenities.   • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.
