Get togethers:
We welcome small gatherings of friends and family, with a maximum of 15 guests, including those staying overnight. This is the perfect spot for cozy get-togethers rather than large parties. Please note that booking sites don’t provide insurance coverage for unregistered guests on the property. There’s a $15 fee for each unregistered guest over 5 years old due to the extra costs of this insurance. Visiting hours are from 9 AM to 9 PM.
We have been delighted to host graduation parties, engagements, elopements, bridal showers, anniversaries, and celebrations of life. An additional fee of $15 also applies for visits from friends and family who are simply stopping by.
A little history of this remarkable cottage!
A lovingly renovated 1910 cottage with all the modern necessities and amenities but keeping with her historical charm.
This cottage stands above the site of the original Buffalo Bill Cody family home, now marked only by a sign showing where it once stood. In 1933, the house was relocated by train to Cody Wyoming, as a tourist attraction. I can imagine young Buffalo Bill Cody playing on this very property before his family moved to Kansas at the age of around 7.
The cottage is the last remaining building of the three that once stood on this parcel of land. The original outhouse still stands at the back of the property. Two other small brick homes were torn down years ago, but scattered throughout the landscape, you may notice old bricks and remnants of foundations still visible.
The Views!
Enjoy river vistas from every window there’s not a single window without a river view from the house. Start your day with sunrises viewing the great Mississippi River, or wind down in the evening on the sunporch, decks, or enjoy the firepit garden, watching the sun set in all its glory.
This is not your typical vacation rental. I’ve spent years traveling across the country, handpicking antiques, décor, and furniture to match the whimsical charm of this home. I have owned the property for over a decade, and it’s a joy to share it with guests from around the world.
