Nice apartment, difficult host
Check in process was okay, but had to wait for instructions from host's person in country and meet them on site. The apartment is nice, the view is great and it is conveniently located right over the marina so it is perfect if you are coming in from a boat trip or going out on a charter (which we were doing).
Host also expects an additional deposit (not through VRBO) that may be standard in France or EU countries but is extremely non-standard in US. Payment system for the deposit didn't work and host was upset about that.
Host gave us a bad review due to us re-breaking an already broken and cobbled together cheap IKEA table. Host also complained of an "unpleasant smell" in a VRBO message to us almost 3 weeks after we had been gone from the place. The drain for the washing machine goes into the sink and makes a smell when it is used and there are small insects living in there. There are maintenance issues on this apartment that we were willing to overlook because of the great location and reasonable price; however, when the host started complaining about petty issues after we had been gone for three weeks, it made me rethink my review.
I would stay in this apartment again, but never with this host.
