The room was a little on the snug side but clean, tidy and well maintained. Plenty of tea/coffee in the room, a small fridge - everything you would expect. Breakfast excellent, the bar was a nice place to hang out and the view from our room was lovely overlooking the castle. I'd definitely stay here again.

Perfectly situated at the top of Steep Hill, with a car park to pre book. Staff are friendly and helpful, wonderful breakfast. Lovely room with an excellent modern bathroom with complimentary toiletries. A great variety of restaurants close by. We tried the tapas bar Ole Ole which was excellent. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Waiting staff and food very good for our 1st dinner BUT we had to wait an hour in between our starter and main course - we were granted a 20% discount but decided we couldn’t risk another meal here during our 4 nights in the hotel. Our room 222, suffered from an eternal mechanical hum nearly all night which kept us awake.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful with time to chat. Meals were of a good standard and there was no rush. Nothing to do with the hotel but having to wait 2 1/2 hours to cross the road to get back to the hotel due to the Tour of Britain cycle race was no joke.
