This converted courthouse is very charming, with 12-foot ceilings (I think), hard wood floors, a cool rooftop bar, a great location in the middle of Litchfield's shopping and restaurant district, ample parking in the rear, and a very friendly staff. The breakfast - by Stephanie - was fantastic, with her homemade muffins, overnight oats/chia, fresh fruit, frittatas, and other items. We had the most delicious sea bass for dinner at the Courtroom restaurant on site. Our room was among the smallest, but the king-sized bed was luxurious, the bathroom was very chic, with white and black tiling, and the ceilings were so high that it made it feel bigger. The only drawback was no TV, but we were fine using our laptops for streaming. I'm not sure if TVs are in other rooms. We would definitely stay again.

This is a charming boutique hotel, and everything important is new. The staff members were upbeat and helpful, and the woman who runs the complimentary breakfast is superb. There are ample EV chargers in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel. We are recommending the Abner to friends and family.

I actual live in town and always wanted to stay here with my wife and dine here. Super clean room, very chill atmosphere, well decorated and most importantly, a comfortable bed. The staff was incredible and very attentive. But the real shinning star was the Courthouse restaurant, probably one of the best meals I’m going to have this year. Great vibes, great staff and amazing food. 5/5 stars, would highly recommend staying.

I think this hotel would be wonderful in any season...beautiful area to walk on the wide, stately streets with beautiful 1800's home in the summer, spring or fall; lots of beautiful autumn leaves in the fall, perfect New England town with center green in winter, summer, spring and fall, to beautiful spring with flowers all over the town too. At Abner Hotel you can enjoy any season with the great rooftop bar, the cozy fireplace in the lounge outside the restaurant in the winter.... A special attraction for attorneys or anyone interested in the law is the unique nature of this property which was a renovated and preserved old courthouse.... Don't forget the fascinating attraction of country's very first Law School, walking distance from the hotel! Lourdes of Litchfield Grotto, lovely with outdoor masses, stations of the cross, gift shop and Cafe, open to all, just down the road.

Thr Abner was a wonderful stay! The property is beautifully maintained and they surprised us with an upgraded room. The Verdict, the roof top bar was a great experience, we had some pre-dinner cocktails and hummus. The staff throughout the Abner, from the front desk to the breakfast room were attentive and pleasant. The breakfast included overnight oats, yogurt and granola, chia seed pudding, fresh fruit and a delicious zucchini frittata! The room was well appointed and emaculately clean. We will definitely visit again!
