THE UNIT HAS A BRAND NEW WASHER AND DRYER IN THE DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM. THE PROPERTY HAS TWO BALCONIES FOR YOU TO ENJOY UNDER THE SUN, WITH SPECTACULAR VIEWS OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN. DOLPHINS, SEALS AND OCCASIONALLY WHALES CAN BE SEEN ON A REGULAR BASIS FROM THE BALCONY OVERLOOKING THE BEAUTIFUL PACIFIC OCEAN. The location is excellent, but unfortunately, the amenities and service were disappointing. There was a 5-hour power outage during our stay, which lasted only 18 hours in total due to delayed cleaning (cleaning was completed at 5 PM, though check-in was scheduled for 3 PM).The host initially claimed the outage affected all of Malibu, but we quickly discovered that neighboring buildings had powe, it appeared to be isolated to this property. When I inquired about a partial refund, the host first offered only 15%, blaming us for the length of the outage because we hadn’t immediately reported it. This logic was flawed, as his original claim suggested a widespread issue, and it’s unclear how earlier notification would have changed the utility provider’s response.We followed the instructions provided and contacted the assistant listed in the message, but due to the assistant being based overseas, time zone differences delayed communication. The host later stated we should have contacted him directly instead.After some back and forth, he raised the offer to a 20% refund, describing it as a generous gesture—despite the inconvenience and our decision to leave early.In addition, the owner made condescending remarks, suggesting that I shouldn’t use VRBO if I expect a functioning rental or timely support. On top of all this, the furniture does not match the listing photos. Rather, a bunch of cheap replacements.

Peace and Tranquility

Once you are in the home, the views from both the floors are gorgeous. We even saw dolphins swim by a few days. As the water recedes, you can simply walk down and access the beach and walk around for nearly a mile. As access is private, there are very few others on the beach. Perfect during COVID-19. Location is ideal to explore Malibu. We enjoyed our stay. The host was very welcoming and dropped off a blender to help with our dietary needs. A few considerations to keep in mind * The turn to get into the property from the highway and out from the property to the highway is awkward (but probably acceptable by Malibu standards). Parking is hard but do-able for those not used to Malibu. * Overall condition of the property was great, but it needs a bit more love to make it a sanctuary -e.g. Master toilet seat was wobbly, there is a crack in one the mirrors, the master bath didn't have an exhaust fan and there was a toilet paper roll tucked in to make it work, the downstairs bathroom shower makes loud noises when operated. But these were really minor when compared to what the property offers in terms of its location and views.

If you are looking for a unique Malibu getaway, look no further! The townhouse is surfer cute and you will remember it for a long time! The owner and property manager go extra mile to make your stay comfortable and special! Well stocked. 3 min from Duke's. Get ready to live like a Malibu local!

A wonderful stay

Our family had a wonderful stay! The view of the ocean from the big glass windows was beautiful and really made our time there special. The property was clean and there was plenty of room for our family of four. We had easy access to all Malibu beaches and also Santa Monica. Excellent communication with the property manager before and during our visit.
