"Single room. Small but fine. Mattress was a bit lumpy. Shower was a bit "weak". Room was clean. Evening meal in the lounge was excellent...it was busy which is always a good sign. Breakfast was just superb. Fresh, local produce. Cooked fresh and hot as were the plates. Tea, toast, orange juice. Best part of the stay."

"Nice hotel, lovely and clean. Beautiful sea view from our room. Staff very friendly. Plenty of parking. Noise - you can hear everything in the corridor. Doors banging closed was an issue for us, made me jump on many occasions. Apart from this one issue it was a lovely stay. "

"How hotels used to be - polite, respectful, and a joy to stay. The staff are all brilliant."

"The hotel is an old inn in Johnshaven, a fishing village at least 10 miles outside of Montrose, in Aberdeenshire not Angus. Lovely setting near the harbour. The family room had a double bed and two single beds in a separate section. Shower room was small but well maintained. A small heater kept the room warm which was good because the weather was terrible on the first day. The bar/ dining area was lovely, the staff were all super and the food was excellent. Seafood was a speciality although there was a wide choice of dishes. People obviously came from all round to eat there and there was a lively atmosphere. We would certainly go back."
