Luxurious Quonset hut in the woods, mountain views
Unplug and unwind in the mountains, just 20 minutes West of Kalispell, Montana. This sprawling forested property is only one hour from the West Gate of Glacier National Park, 3.5 miles from Wild Bill Off Road Vehicle Trailhead, less than 10 minutes from the historic Rails to Trails and Smith Lake, home to some of the best pike fishing in NW Montana.
This 750 square foot cabin is a structurally distinctive Quonset hut specifically engineered for the snow, wind and elements of the area. These structures are energy efficient and allow for an open concept living space. New construction completed December 2021.
The area is quiet and secluded, great for walks and viewing the sunrises or sunsets. The sunsets from the cabin are spectacular.
Your stay will include a complimentary "s'mores station," local Montana coffee, creamer and bread. Fire pit and barbeque on site. We keep the cabin fully stocked with chopped firewood and firestarters. We also offer use of an inflatable 2-person kayak and inflatable stand up paddleboard for a fun day on the lake, life jackets included. During the winter, we have an extensive collection of snowshoes/trekking poles for your use.
The cabin offers high speed WiFi, so you can keep connected with loved ones, tend to emails or check the weather before you head out for the day. We also have an extensive library of DVDs if you feel like relaxing with a movie at night, as well as an Amazon Fire Stick.
For those interested in hiking or mountain biking in the Spring/Summer/Fall or snowshoeing/cross country skiing in the Winter, endless access to public lands is less than 2 minutes from the cabin. Laminated maps are provided on the fridge. We are happy to point you in the right direction. This is one of the best "hidden gems" of our area!
An RV site, with full hookups, is also available if other members of your party are traveling with an RV. Please note that we will not rent the cabin and RV site out to separate parties unless it is at your request. You may message us with further inquiries on the RV site.
The closest grocery stores are in Kalispell so we recommend that you stock up before heading out for your stay. Albertsons, Super1 and Smith's are popular and located within 25 minutes from the cabin. The nearest gas station, Kelly Rae's, also offers basic amenities such as milk, butter, beer, etc.
Your stay at our mountain cabin will rejuvenate your soul and mind. A true Montana experience awaits you. Property sleeps 2 persons

This was a great place to stay! They have thought of everything you could need during your stay! It was a great location if you are visiting Glacier and the surrounding areas. They even had bear spray to borrow for hiking. Great hosts, very well thought out VRBO!!
Really a special place with lovely hosts. We enjoyed our two night stay while visiting and touring the area. The hut had everything we needed to relax and refresh with our pup. We enjoyed grilling, sitting by a campfire, and coffee in the morning sun out front. We appreciated the hospitality of the hosts including local bakery bread and a s’mores station.
Our stay in the Quonset hut was peaceful and relaxing. The hut is very spacious and has all the necessities you can think of, and more! The sunset views were beautiful and the property felt secluded from neighboring homes. We saw lots of birds, squirrels and deer that wandered by throughout our stay. This is a perfect place to enjoy nature while still having your creature comforts. We highly recommend!
We elected to stay here while searching for a cabin near GNP. Once we say the pictures of the property it was a pretty easy decision, and the price point is very fair. You could see the night stars clearly, and felt super private. The property was well adorned, clean, full of amenities such as a washer and dryer. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Two of our family members from Boston stayed here while visiting us and enjoyed it so much. They loved the private location, the outdoor area, and the kitchen. The s’mores bar was fun and the kitchen was stocked with everything they needed for cooking meals. The bathroom was spacious and the home was very clean. The location
is also convenient to Kalispell, but in a pretty mountain setting. Staying in the Quonset hut was also a fun new experience, since it’s so unique!
My wife and I rented the “cabin” overnight. My only regret is not booking this for more nights. It’s perfect and the views and location are fantastic. Communication with the host was great and the story behind the build is cool as well. If you want to “unplug” this is the perfect place for you!
Wonderful getaway stay, worth every penny. From all the ammenities to the little touches that made it feel like home, cant say enough how much we loved our time there. Cant wait for a return trip!
If I could, I would take this rental home with me! A wonderful stay in a beautiful location near wildlife and local amenities. The hosts were great, and I hope to have a chance to visit again.
Aaron & Katie are THE most amazing hosts!!! They thought of every creature comfort you would want when you’re away from home. Not only are they incredibly kind people they made our stay warm & welcoming💜 We will be back!!
Very very nice place to stay! We really enjoyed the place and how clean and new it was. We had a lot of rain while we stayed and didn’t get to enjoy a fire but that would have been awesome. Very nice small touches through the home. Not one single complaint other than we had to go home!
Our stay at this unique and peaceful spot in the woods of Kila, Montana, was everything we hoped for and more. Tucked away in a quiet, remote setting, it gave our family the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with each other. We celebrated both Father’s Day and our daughter’s 14th birthday during our time here, and the memories we made will stay with us for a long time. The setting was serene and beautiful — just the right mix of rustic charm and comfort. We enjoyed exploring the area and took day trips to Wayfarers State Park and spent time out on Flathead Lake, which was absolutely stunning. We also visited Foys Lake for a bit of fishing, which added to the relaxing pace of the weekend.Thank you for sharing such a special place with us. It was a truly wonderful experience, and we’re grateful for the time we were able to spend together in such a peaceful and scenic spot.
Very clean and organized. The day we showed up at the property the area received around 7 inches of snow. We pulled into the driveway to be welcomed by one of the owners shoveling a clear path to the place. That hospitality set the tone for the whole weekend. The place was stocked with all the necessities and more.
This is by far the best place we have stayed! The cabin was very clean and well organized. It was well stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, creamer, butter and tons of spices, bathroom supplies ~ just too much to list!! Lots of extra blankets, but the cabin is well insulated and stayed cozy warm even with 10 inches of snow outside. TV and VCR worked great and were easy to use.
Aaron and Katie were great! The directions how to get there were perfect, no wrong/guessing turns. They were very communicative always getting right back to us when we had a question or need making sure that we had everything that we might need.
It is an extremely peaceful and relaxing atmosphere!! If you want a true get-away this is the place.
We would definitely like to come back again!
