Beautiful place to celebrate my birthday, was given a ballon and a gift which was very thoughtful! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the air con in the rooms don’t work and we didn’t sleep very well, even with the window open and fan running all night. I think the rooms may need renovations.

Cheap for what you get. It has that classic period charm and class that make it a really enjoyable experience. Staff great, breakfast great. Rooms had ironing facilities and a fan which I can see being helpful in these rooms in the summer but my stay and experience was top tier.

The hotel rooms were very dated and the walls are so thin we heard every little noise from other doors banging, people walking around above us and up and down the corridor. We asked to move rooms after the first night and the staff were accommodating to this. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the Spa is so beautiful. There is an extra charge for the spa if you don’t have a spa day included in package but well worth the money.

I stayed here with colleagues whilst attending a corporate golf day. Whilst we ate in the Clubhouse at the organisd BBQ, the food was extremely well prepared and tasted good. The hotel rooms were very clean, fairly spacious with adaquate refreshments on offer. I've stayed here several times and the price reflect the standard of what you get.

Bugs were all over the room! The door over the garden, couldn’t close it! So I had to go outside, to put a table behind it in order to close it! I asked reception to rise up my complaints to management. They even did care to contact me! Very awful service and experience.

Nice golf course, especially the back 9. Hotel and rooms were good - we upgraded to suite with terrace which was very good. We were disappointed in the Barney restaurant. The BLT came on flimsy white bread when the menu said it came on toast. When we raised this eventually we were provided with toast - 2 pieces of the same type of bread lightly toasted on one side! When checking in at 12 we were not allowed to fill in the forms to make life easier when the rooms were ready. After our golf we returned at 5:45 we had to wait 15 minutes until someone came to help at reception

The venue looks beautiful visually you think it’s the place to visit, if you are late visitor, you know flying into Manchester and in need of food after 9pm then don’t expect anything, no room service which I found a little odd given the size of the hotel, no food availabe in house until the morning but they tell you that you can get Deliveroo…. or you can drive and find a restaurant. Very poor.. You leave the next day and the front desk doesn’t even say thank you, they just take your money
