「I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I ASKED FOR EGGS AND TOAST AND WHATEVER MEAT THEY SERVE I DONT NEED ANYTHING ELSE. THERE REPLY WAS "WE ARE NOT DENNYS" ... I DECIDED NOT TO EAT AND LEFT EARLY THAT MORNING. IVE BEEN TO MANY BED AND BREAKFAST AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE FOR A SIMPLE BREAKFAST REQUEST. NOT COOL AT ALL.」

「The Grand Colonial is a great choice for a temporary home in the Herkimer area. So rich in American Revolutionary history, the old mansion is an historic relic that is kept up-to-date by its current owners. Mike was our host, and he couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We give it our highest recommendation.」

「Staff were always available and very helpful. Accommodations were old but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was family style at a large table and it was fun talking with other travelers. Food was good and filling.」

「The surrounding area looks economically depressed and we had some initial concerns about safety. Check in was easy. We were provided with two keys for the front door and room door. The house is well maintained and in keeping with original design. We stayed in the wine and roses room which is next door to the kitchen. If you like to sleep in, this is not the room for you due to breakfast noise. The breakfast was good and timely. There was a hot option (bread pudding and chicken and herb sausage)...

「Top notch place. Convenient to everything especially Snug Harbor (where we have a boat slip). Owners very attentive and onsite (restaurant below). There were no issues with the stay or the property. Defiantly coming back again. Need to see when it is available!!」
