The hotel was located on Grand Via close to all the major shopping outlets. (Primark, Benneton, Zara etc) So for shoppers a convenient location. There are convenience stores within 2 minutes. You can walk to Plaza Major within 10 minutes, the walk to the Prado and Palace is about 25 minutes, in the heat of July you may prefer to catch a taxi rather than walk. It was easy to obtain a taxi from the front of the hotel with the assistance of the doorman on ground level. He will also provide you access to the lift to go up to level 9 Reception upon your arrival. Security swipe cards for lift required. The room was modern and clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. There was tea making facilities, a safe, hairdryer, minibar and fridge. The bathroom had a seperate toilet and shower. There was a curtain to the entrance of the bathroom which provided privacy (if sharing) and blocked out the light if someone else was using the bathroom whilst you are trying to sleep. There was a little bit of noise that came through the doors from the corridor, could be an issue for light sleepers. The pool area during my stay was very busy, there were a few loungers and all were occupied. The pool/terrace area is combined and quite narrow. The music was loud and there was a party vibe. (Rather than chill) The pool itself is small, more like a plunge pool (not suitable for anyone wanting to do laps) and the terrace has a view over Madrid.
